Vehicle Detail
Mazda RX7 1985 – Sweet Little Sports Car! I purchased this one owner, low millage car back in November 2009, she had been well cared for and was completely original. I ran around the city with her for a five or so months and then my work scheduled changed and she has just sat in the garage for the past few months, so it is time to let her go. The Good Only 127.5k miles I purchased her from one caring owner Many items replaced in the engine bay including a new radiator, reconditioned starter, AC system was serviced and I was told that the 12A engine had been rebuilt when she had 100k on the clock by the RX7 Shack in San Diego…..unfortunately the previous owner did not include the paperwork. Excellent paint, no fading, kept in the garage by me and the previous owner. California Car, no rust. Tyres all good. Five speed stick shift, smooth shifting of all the gears. An amazing drive, holds the road like a Lotus, lots of fun :) Everything electrical appears to function. AC blows cold. New sound deadening material installed along with a carpet. On a non-op with the DMV, no back dated fee’s. Starts up first time, everytime! Never left me strandad. Known Problems There is a very small oil leak from the oil pan gasket, I took a picture of this. Occasionally there is a slight clunk noise from the rear of the car when taking off and shuddering when slowing down with your foot off the clutch, my mechanic told me it’s the U-joint’s. The exhaust, although functional, is a little corroded at the tips, the previous owner added some tips to improve the look, one fell off. The doors do lock, but it’s a hit or miss, the keys are correct, it is just from lack of use. I was able to free up the passenger lock and the trunk lock, the driver’s door though occasionally locks. There are a few small dings here and there, I have taken pictures of these and posted the pictures below. The center console was looking a little worse for wear so I decided to paint it…paint isn’t my strong point, it looks good from a distance but it’s not perfect. A new carpet was installed by myself, the quality was fair, its not perfect but does look good in the car. I have been 100% honest about the car, she runs well and gets a lot of attention. Buying a car online is always a risk, so I made a little video below of the car. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rw0upQM6bOU Also I have taken a lot of pictures for you to view, they are available at the below link. http://www.omniinstruments.net/rx7On Dec-14-10 at 16:52:59 PST, seller added the following information: No foreign cashiers checks, only certified checks from a US bank. Remember, your bidding to buy the car!On Dec-16-10 at 12:03:25 PST, seller added the following information: I have had several emails asking if you can drive this car home, all I can say is that I have never driven this car over a great distance (10 miles plus) however everything up to the 10 miles at a time I have driven her, she has never missed a beat. She is also non-op'd with the DMV so you need to get the tags to drive her home if you want too, paperwork is all here. I also had a couple of questions why the miles are so low over the period of one year, again, as I mentioned, she was only used for trips around the town for about five months, typically 30 minute drives to the bank in town traffic. Occasionally I would take her for a small blast along the freeway to keep everything in top order. Now over the past few months she has just sat in the garage, I have started her once a week and let her run for 10 minutes, then once a month took her for a spin to keep things moving but since I non-opped her in November when the registration was due I have only taken her for a couple of spins around the block in December and to make the video. Just don't tell the DMV ;)
