Vehicle Detail
Car looks nice and drives but has nickel and dimed me over the last year. Recently had twins and needed a car with more room for wife and all the kids. Also needed something more reliable. The most important thing to note is that the speedometer does not work and for that matter the odometer does not either. The Odometer reads 135,800 miles but for all I know the motor could have 200k on it. I drove it over the past year and when I purchased this in Florida, the speedometer did not work. I probably put 20k miles on it. However, no telling what the actual mileage was before I had it. Probably more than what the odometer said. Based on the VIN, you should be able to click on the Car Check tab and you will see where the mileage appeared to have stopped working (with the owner prior to me). You will also notice that many differnt people owned this before I did. SEE VIDEO OF CAR! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=la_Qy3iv8TU There are lots of good parts if anyone wanted to buy it and make money by parting it out. I would suspect the resale value of all the good used parts might be close to $7k (doors, wheels, tranny, block, heads, body parts, etc. etc.) Or if you are mechanically inclined, you might be able to restore it. It is a nice looking car but needs work. It was a Florida car I think all of it's life so there is NO RUST anywhere on the car!! It does appear that it was re-painted at some point however. A/C, heat, radio, hi/low beam, windshield wipers all work. Both passenger side windows need new actuators for the power windows (I've seen these on ebay for about $100 each). Transmission fail safe sensor also initiated 2 times since I owned it but all I had to do was pull off to the side of the road, turn the car off, restart it and was back on my way. It may just be a faulty sensor but it could be more than that also. Fog lamps don't work, one brake light is out, passenger side power seat recliner motor faulty, leak from bad sunroof seal (sometimes), and just an old car with other little things that don't work. Also be sure to keep gas in it because sometimes, the needle gets stuck on 1/4 tank and does not move below this. I ran out of gas and found out that the fuel guage did not read anything below 1/4 tank. Anyway, if you are a BMW enthusiast and like to work on or restore these things then this might be a nice project for you. Otherwise, anyone that does not know BMWs probably should not bid on this. The car still drives and is very comforatable but I wouldn't guarantee a long trip. I did drive this from Florida to MD with no problems a few months ago but again, I'm not guarantee it. I'm letting this go to the highest bidder with no reserve because I am now living in a town house complex and the tags expire the end of December. I can't keep it here with expired tags beyond December. Serious bidders only. Don't bid unless you have the means to pay and pick up. If there is anything else I can think of I'll post it.
