Vehicle Detail
1990 Convertible RX-7 Runs and starts well, shifts, steers, stops...drives great! New top is 3 years old and has been stored indoors Car was wet during pictures (if it looks funny) I bought the car many years ago. I was going to fix up the minor stuff it needs but time and life changes caused me to have to sell it... but I really don't want to! All of this was done prior to me owning the car...not my fault! :) Car has clear title in hand - no tags or insurance so I can't drive it anywhere but like around the neighborhood. It was stored in the garage. Tires are ok. I would have put a new set on...and will if I don't sell it... there is a super slow leak in the passenger rear tire - needs air once every 2 months or so... Paint is in good shape but the drivers fender has pretty good dents, passenger has some too. Could probably be replaced or repaired. Doesn't impair driving. The body itself has minor parking lot dings but nothing of real concern. No rust. Paint does not have fade in any areas. Interior is missing plastic piece on bottom of steering shaft. Plastic door cups for door handle (where you open the door) and the small square in middle of center console that holds the top switches have been repainted for whatever reason. The top motors work well with no problems. Clutch is tight with no chatter or anything. Engine is clean and nothing looks out of place or is altered. The back window is glass in an RX7 and is in great shape (so it doesn't whiten like most convertibles) I have the convertible top cover that no one, including me, uses...but I have it. Just put the top down, already! The A/C once worked. It does not now. I am sure it needs a charge. I have never wanted to use it, anyway. The top is really easy to put up and down. (RX-7 top down procedure: Apply parking brake. Unlatch 2 latches, press button, fold down targa portion - takes about 10 seconds - its great!) Car has check engine light on (has always been on)...my mechanic and dealership have both looked at it and agreed that it is due to an exhaust sensor (aftermarket exhaust is nice - nice note and not too loud unless you take out the silencers) - but there is nothing wrong. The airbag light is blinking. It has always done so. It is on a 10 year timer...and obviously 10 years has passed... but the airbags, etc. have never been deployed, have been checked, and are in good shape. The car probably needs a battery and an oil change due to time... but the car starts fine and runs great. The battery is just old. I can't warranty a used car, but I would drive this car anywhere, anytime! Leather seats are not ripped or shredded - intact CD player works - i'm sure could use a cleaning...it doesn't like some CDs - but it is probably the CDs. Headrest speakers work This is a very special car. It needs nothing, but minor work could make it perfect. I rarely have seen a manual, black on black, convertible 2nd gen RX-7 in good shape....especially nowadays... and if you have never had the pleasure of owning a rotary engine car - I suggest it highly.
