1951 WILLYS JEEP 1/2 TON 4WD PICKUP Truck has been in storage since 1985 Truck came originally with the 4 cylinder engine. Current engine is a 1964 Ford 262 CID (4.3L) which looks like it has been there for years. The adapter between the engine and trans is a nice piece, and the engine looks like it came with the truck. The engine is not running. I pulled the plugs and sprayed some penetrating oil in the cylinders, and drained and refilled the engine oil. I connected an oil pressure gauge. The engine cranked easily with no plugs in, but there is no oil pressure. I have not pulled the oil pan to see if the pickup screen (before the oil pump) is simply restricted from the truck being stored so long. The body is solid except for the right and left outer floor-pans (see in the photos), and at the rear of both sides of the bed (refer to the photos). The drive-train is original: Transfer-case: Dana 18; Transmission: T-90 (3-spd); Rear Axle: Timken (was an option); Front Axle: Dana 25. All fluids changed. The tank in the truck's bed is an added fuel tank. The left side dash cover is sitting on the seat (refer to photos). The parking brake works, but the brake master cylinder was dry and rusty inside. I filled it with fluid, but have made no attempt to flush/clean/evaluate the system. The electrical system is 6 volt and uses a generator.
