Vehicle Detail

This listing is for a 2001 Suzuki sv 650 s. I think the bike has been siting in a parking lot for about 2 years now. I think before I bought it, someone had backed into it, I guess instead of replacing the front fairing I went for the streetfighter look. The speedometer - tachometer are kinda zip tied in place (I think I still have the frame piece that they screw to), and I think one of the clip on handles and the clutch lever is slightly bent but I think I have a replacement pair of clip on handles and a clutch lever. The replacement clip on handles I think are from a honda Hawk, I believe the Hawk handles were a modification sometimes done to the SV 650, because the handles sit a little higher. You might find more information about this modification at www.svrider.com. I guess www.svrider.com is basicly a website for Suzuki SV motorcycles. If you are interested in an SV, you might want to check out www.svrider.com for more information on these bikes. Drained gas and added gas. The motorcycle started, and I let it run for about 30 minutes, however, when the RPM gets around 5,000 it seemed to bog down. It might need to be run for a while longer to possible clear out the carbs better,or maybe a carb cleaning? I might make it over to the motorcycle again this week, so you might want to check back to see if there are updates. Also the brake discs might be rusted in place, if the engine gets running stronger, you might be able to put it in first gear to get the brake disks to break loose from the brake pads. I guess I have done that with a car that had sat for a while more then once, and seemed fine after it broke loose. In the past, if I tried to coast with no hands on the handles, I think the motorcycle seemed to pull to one side a little, though during regular riding, I don't think it was very noticable, and I think I put about 2,500 miles on it that way. Also there is a dent on the one side of the gas tank, maybe about the size of a baseball, and some scratches on some of the plastics. Some possibly new issues that I think I have noticed from the bike sitting outside, the rubber handle grips, seat, and front fork seals seem to have some sun, dry damage. You might easily find used replacement parts for the motorcycle on Ebay, but I think I have a replacement for the front wheel fender, a clutch lever, and a pair of slightly higher clip on handles. I plan to include the exhaust with the sale of the motorcycle, I think the carbon fiber exhaust cost about $450 new (if you search Yoshimura on the internet you might find more info). Payment in full within 3 weeks please. Local pickup. My cell # is 908-458-3092. If you are looking for a cheap way to get a bike on the road this might be it. With a new battery, and after letting the motorcycle run for a while, this motorcycle might be road ready? How many other 2001 bikes are there on Ebay in this price range? I might try to make it over to the bike again to try to get the bike running better this week, I guess part of the problem might be getting over to the bike to play around with it. It is in a parking of a development where my cousin lives.
