This is a MGA 1600 with wire wheels. I purchased it from the collection of a retiring English car mechanic.I was told the motor had been rebuilt and the car was stored out of the weather. I was able to get the car started by installing a battery and hooking up a temporary fuel pump. The motor sounded good, produced great oil pressure and did not smoke.( see start and run video ). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXK4piFV9J8 Because of my temporary external fuel pump I drove the car about 1/2 mile and shifted though all the gears with no unusual noise. The car shifted into second without any noise. Do not plan to drive this car home. It will start and drive on to a trailer with the temporary 12 volt battery I installed. The battery boxes on both sides look good and the body is fairly straight. Notice how nice the tube is behind the motor.Both the trunk and heater shelf are solid. I took pictures of a rust spot near the drivers door and near the back of the passenger seat ( does not show up well)The original color was light blue and when they changed to red the painted over the fender welting. The passenger side front fender has some surface rust where the fender meets the body. There is no rust through in between the fender and body. The ignition switch works but the lights do not come on. The generator light goes off once the motor is started. This car came with the optional wire wheels and the push button wind shield washer. I can store the car for 60 days at no charge or find transportation to the port of Houston for $ 400.00. The car has a seat complete and one seat frame it also has a convertible rack but no rag top. The car is located in Monroe LA 71201 and will be stored at a commercial location for easy pickup. A $ 300.00 deposit needs to be paid within 48 Hours with the full balance paid within 7 days.
