Vehicle Detail
Presented by www.torfab.com – The NorthWest Land Cruiser maintenance and restoration company. Up for sale is a 1988 Toyota Land Cruiser Diesel with the infamous and indestructible Toyota 2H Diesel engine coupled with the H55F 5-speed transmission, air conditioning, power windows, power mirrors, 4-wheel drive, new tires, totally refurbished. This is a 1988 Rust Free FJ62 Land Cruiser body and frame, stripped of its entire gas hog drivetrain and electrical system, and meticulously recreated as a Toyota HJ60. There’s not a spec of rust on the body or frame, and the interior is in great condition. The engine, wiring harness, fuel tank, electrical components, dash, transmission, etc were removed from a Canadian spec Land Cruiser and installed into this pristine body. Along the way, this cruiser got a new TEQ clutch, new rear main seal, rebuilt front axle and brakes, complete scrub down and cleaning, new belts and hoses, new belt tensioner pulleys, and all new fluids. There’s not a single oil or fluid leak from this car, you can park it in your living room. This Land Cruiser received the entire 24 Volt wiring harness from the HJ60 body for the ultimate reliability. We created a secondary wiring harness to control power windows and mirrors along with a provision for the stereo utilizing a voltage converter stepping 24v down to 12v in it’s own circuit. This engine is designed to run 1 million Kilometers before requiring a rebuild, and this one has been very well maintained in it’s life. It currently has 400km’s on it, and runs like a dream. It’s very quiet and smooth, even at 3k rpm. You can turbo this engine with a turbo-glide kit to increase performance dramatically, but right now it has tons of torque and will still get 25 mpg’s. The only issue with this drivetrain is the 5th gear which will grind a little, and sometimes pop out when the car is coasting. This is a common issue with the H55F transmission, and can be easily rebuilt with 2 new OEM gears. It’s Currently registered as a Diesel in Washington State. Please feel free to contact me directly through my website www.torfab.com with any questions, and you’re welcome to come by and inspect it any time.
