hello everyone, here is a very special car for all you mercury guys. this is a 66 mercury villager woody wagon. very few of these car were produced and as from what i can tell there is only a hand full left. this car is gonna make someone very happy. i bought this car as a parts getter kind of hotrod about a month ago. i since got my hands on a english car i have been wanting so the mercury has to go as i dont have the space. i would definitely keep it but right now i dont have the room. so the story i got on the car was as followed. the car was bought new by a gentleman and he put about 88,000 on it and then used it sparingly over the last 20 years. it was stored in the garage the whole time. he sold it to the man i got it from. the 88,000 are believed to be original. the exterior of the car is in nice shape for the age. stainless shows very well. the paint does have its share of scratches and nicks but shows pretty well and i was going to leave it alone but it would have to be painted to be perfect. the wood grain is nice and looks good. the body is very straight with only a minor ding here and there but overall it is very very straight. no real rust concerns, just some minor surface stuff, as you can see. the interior is in great shape. could use a cleaning but it is very nice and really doesn't need anything for a driver quality car.. the headliner is nice, seats are nice but drivers side is starting to show some wear. carpet's great. etc. dash is great but does have the wrong radio. car starts right up and sounds great with the duel exhaust. runs down the road nicely and stops well. the 289 moves the car quite well. from sitting the car does smoke a little but is getting better with driving. i have only put 30 or so miles on it but it is clearing up, probably dry valve seals. tranny shifts as it should. power steering works well. all systems seem to work. i removed the rear bumper to get it rechromed as it needs it, but i didnt get around to it. it does have a dent in it but can be straightened. i will reattach the bumper. the battery area has some damage due to battery acid leaking over the years. over all this is running and driving light project to be perfect or just drive it the way it is. the wheels do not come with the car unless you really want them and we can work it out at the end of the auction. i have the stock wheels with nice wheel covers, tires are bad but i can get a nice set at buyers expense. i do have a buy it now but am afraid to put it up due to scammers. so if you are serious about the car you can call me at 425 802 8682. thanks for looking and im sure i forgot some stuff so please ask any and all questions. also the rear door works just fine, swings down or car swing out. both work, the rear window goes up and down but is kind of a pain to put up, goes down fine though. thanks
