Vehicle Detail
Hello, what i have here is a nice 1966 cutlass 442 optioned car from factory.yes it has the 5vy on the firewall telling you its a factory 442. first as you will notice it has a 67 shifter in it,i rechromed it and used it cause to me it loks better and is stronger than the stock 66 shifter. also notice the high back bucket seats, they were in car when i bought it 3 years ago and may or may not be stock, anyway they make a better look. now to the nitty gritty-she has a 455 cubic inch big block (high nickel content 1970 block) it was bored 30 over with of course new pistons&rings.motor was rebuilt using the Mondello 20-22 cam (494 lift on the intake side) and really has a great rumble out of the flomasters. i purchased the big oldsmobile C heads and had them redone with porting and polishing. turbo 400 was rebuilt as new and has the heavy duty Allison clutches installed in it. the rear is a 390 positraction and really digs out. she has a new edelbrock performer and new edelbrock 750 carb. with electric choke. i have a set of chrome valve covers that have not been installed and go with car. i have a new set of ceramic headers in the box that can be purched for around 200 dollars. yes she has power steering and power brakes,a new brake booster was installed and i swear she stops as good as any new car! she came from factory with a/c and she is missing one a/c line and the compressor ( i have an old one that is hopefully good and will be thrown in) i also bought compressor brackets on ebay and will throw in. new dryer too. condenser in front of radiator is still there. if you want to make this car a 4-speed,i have for sale(but not included with car) just about everything needed to switch her over to 4-speed. i have a 70 model muncie or saganaw (cant remember which) that came out of a chevelle that had only 7,000 miles on car. i also have purchased, over the years,a set of used correct clutch & brake petals ,correct flywheel and bell housing,a new centerforce clutch & pressure plate. and also a correct 442 hurst chrome shifter (sweet)--the buyer will get first shot at these parts probably at my cost. Paint is about 2 years old and is 6 coats of target red and 2 coats of clear. i would say paint is above ,near by ,car show quality but not what is called SHOW quality. last owner put all new interior in car before i bought it and has no rips or tears anywhere and looks new. overhead too. package tray and door panels are in same condition. dashpad looks new and may have ben installed at time of interior. the plastic instrument panel has no cracks in it but could use a can of silver sprayed on it for a fresher look. speedo works but shows about 6 miles per hour faster than actual. gas gauge broke but have a working one that i bought on ebay and goes with car. she has a MOON tack mounted to stering column (sweet&works great). she has a set of nice aftermarket gauges (all work) mounted under dash. of course all glass is very good and windows roll up and down elcellent. also fac.AM radio doesent work, but is nice ,with the knobs rechromed so who cares? also new chrome things that hold the 2 nice sunvisors up. i spent a lot of money down at the chrome shop as you will see futher down. Car has new bumpers with new lenses front and back. most everything on the car has been rechromed at my local chrome shop.(they know me by my first and middle name). i think chrome is very important to any 60s car cause chrome sold the car back then(i know im 62 and saw these cars in the showroom floor-my dad was a olds mechanic for a lot of years). anyway here is a list of new chrome--all of the console(except actual console door--about 4 inches by 10 inches hasnt been done). both side pieces and the long center piece that the vaccume gauge is mounted on done, vaccume gauge workes, also the chrome at the rear of console with rear foot light done. inside and outside door handles (also inside armrest base s are new plastic chrome as per factory). more--taillight bezels are rechromed with a nice set of lenses buffed out. bumpers-front&rear(bumper boys).. the 2 bars in grill done with new emblem (all 442 badges around car new) remote mirror done (didnt get cables in remote positioned right and its hard to adjust correctly but easy fix). fender rockets (i call them) on front fenders just behind front wheels done. hood script (o l d s m o b i l e ) looked good so i didnt do it. also oldsmobile script that runs across trunk looked good and didnt do it. there may be more, chrome done just cant think of it. if you are bored by now you can opt out of reading all this, but someone really interested will want to know. as for underneath the car there is no rust,i didnt have it sprayed with anything and you can see that there is no rust. even the painter ,when he sanded the car, said he had no issue with any body damage or bondo or filler of any kind. i have a couple other things on my mind and will throw them out ,which may answer any of your questions--heat blows warm when selected and doesnt put out warm air in the summer time,(as per your selection) wipers work-horn blows-think treres a bulb out ,under the pndl on console ,that should light it up but dont.--left fromt fender is not adjusted in enough(needs to be shimed up 3/8 of an inch---carpet, i think ,is not new but really no wear marks or tears and is very serviceable. has twin elec. fans front of radiator which are adjustable that help with summer time crusin--stainless on side of car (and everything else)was taken of car at time of painting and buffed paint still looks as good as the day painted very glossy, which is what i wanted.--tires show a lot of age and have plenty of tread but i only drive her 5 miles one way to crusein car shows.she rally needs a set of tires of your choice--she has newly painted SS11 rims on that look good.. oh, i wanted to say that the chevelles and cameros (and i am outnumbered 20 to 1 ) they tremble when this big bad olds pulls into the show and i always make sure that im one of the last cars to show up so i can look at their faces when i select my spot. (that just plain fun, i dont care who you are ) anyway enough bout me ,what about you, the econemy is turning around so put your money in something useful and will appreciate in value. i have been extra honest with my details so you could see what a nice car this is. i have a rediculos reserve, way less than i have in car. i am selling cause m wife wasnt into my muscle car heritage and wants me to get a 60s fastback mustang with a 4 speed factory shift. so thats what i must do,right? if you have any questions email me or call my home 864 229 6048 .car is always garaged in my heated and cooled basement in greenwood s.c., which is 50 miles due south of greenville s.c. if anyone has negitave feedback i will have the right to block their bids. i want to sell the car and move on to a mustang.thats why i have such a low reserve. please dont bid if you are not serious, i dont think i need your bid anyway. $500 due within 48 hours of ending and balance in 7 days ---thanks for looking-8642296048
