1980 Suzuki GS

I obtained this Motorcycle in May 2006. I had intentions of rebuilding it to original condition. However, I do not have time to get around to it. So I want to find it a new home and maybe someone who has more time to devote to it. I think it needs a new cylinder block because it leaks oil. I never had it running. The previous owner told me the bike had been dropped on the road and maybe that caused the leak in the cylinder. Not sure exactly what repair was done. He told me that it is fine if you use thicker oil. I had intended to strip the engine and rebuild and find out what repairs if any were done and what needs replacing. I charged the battery and it cranks over but does not fire up. Needs a lot of tuning, cleaning new plugs, clean carburettors etc. Not able to comment on the condition of all electrical circuits but i would imagine they will also need work. The brake fluid cylinder at handlebars will need replacing. Not sure of the condition of the brake lines. I expect they need replacing. The brakes appear to be seized onto the discs making it very difficult to move the bike around. Anyone that buys this needs to be aware it is a total project bike. You will need a trailer. The seat needs work also. The exhaust pipes are dinged in numerous places. Forks have rusty cromework. Not sure of condition of fork seals. The vehicle Title is listed as 'Other'. I have the Title in Hand and can transfer same but I went to Motor Vehicles to register the bike but could not do it because there is a lien on the title. Previous owner told me it was cleared. I wrote to the lien holder 'Marine Midland Bank' but they are out of business. I wrote to HSBC the new owner of Marine Midland about the lien but they never responded. I believe there is ways to get a registration via a dealer. I never researched this any more. Suffice to say obtaining registration will require some investigation. Anyone interested in this bike will no doubt be interested for the project. Write me if you have any questions.
