Vehicle Detail
Beautiful 1967 Mercury Cougar "S" code, with 390 V8 4-bbl, and the rare front bench seat, one of 278 produced that year with the front bench seat. Light Turquoise exterior, Parchment (off white) Interior. Garage kept, of course. This car spent its life in the American Southwest, the original DSO was Los Angeles, and the previous owners bought the car in Phoenix in 2002, and brought it back to NC where it was redone over the next 3 years. No signs of rust, past or present. The cool Sequential turn signals work great. Underside and exhaust look like new. Runs, drives, shifts, and brakes perfectly. Car cover and case (pictured) are included. Many many new parts. The 390 engine was rebuilt, the tires are new, the exhaust system, as is most of the interior. Car was detailed beautifully, as is evident in the pictures. I have an appraisal in PDF form from the Auto Appraisal Network for over $46000. This was done in 2008. I also have the Marti Report (hard copy and pictured) and a Powerpoint slide show by the previous owners detailing the car's restoration with many photos of this cars journey. Non original/perfect items: -Rims. They are of course the Classic Cragers. The original 4 rims are included, and one is pictured. -CD player. The original AM radio and bezel were replaced with a modern setup, but they are included and are pictured. -AC system. Does not work, and I never quite had the time to get to it. Compressor needs to be rebuilt. Or replaced. -Original analog clock does not work. -Under dash gauges. Many of the original gauges do work, but have been redirected to the under dash cluster. Keep it this way, or put it back. Your choice. -After restoration, the previous owners drove the car and enjoyed it a good bit for 3-4 years, a "Weekend Driver". Never in the rain or poor weather (they stressed this to me) So, there are a handful of modest paint chips here and there. I do have a pint of the paint used in the restoration, if any touchup paint is needed down the road. A non-refundable $500 deposit is due within 24 hours via PayPal. The balance must be paid within one week. I will accept personal check (must fully clear), cashier's check, or wire transfer. PLEASE note that all funds must be FULLY cleared/verified by my bank before this car goes anywhere. If you plan to pay the balance on pickup, you will need to come when my bank is open. No exceptions. I will keep the car for up to 2 weeks after the close of the auction for you free of charge, but the balance must be paid within 1 week. I am selling the car because I am moving across country early next year, and I will not have any place to keep the car. I will cooperate any way I can when it comes to shipping, but I have no shipping resources, so please don't ask me how much it would be to ship the car. The car resides in zipcode 29707, so that should help you with pricing the shipping costs. Please resolve any and all questions before bidding. Peppering me with questions after bidding or auction close is not really a good idea (yes this has happened!) :) Thanks and good luck. I know whoever gets this car is going to love it, it is a beautiful car that gets a ton of compliments!
