Vehicle Detail

Gorgeous 1971 Oldsmobile 442 W-30 Convertible Tribute for sale..... This car started its life as a 1971 Olds Cutlass Supreme Convertible and was transformed into a W-30 442 Convertible Tribute car with a frame on restoration completed in 2006. It has the original numbers matching 350 engine and transmission. The car had 69,600 original miles on the odometer when the restoration began....and has only seeen 305 miles since emerging in 2006. Pretty much everything was replaced....all parts coming from Year One. It has front disc brakes, Hurst Dual Gate Shifter, Rear Spoiler, W-25 Ram Air Hood, 442/W-30 Badging, W-27 Rear End Cover and a Poineer CD Player/Tuner with an Alpine Amp in the trunk and (4) speakers enlightening the interior. Inside.....Auto Meter Carbon Fiber Gauges let you know exactly how things are operating, and an Auto Meter Carbon Fiber Tach mounted in the dash lets you know the "blood pressure" of the rocket engine! The 350 engine was completely rebuilt by an Olds guru who built the engine as close to a W-31 350 engine as possible. Sinced then....I have added an Edelbrock Aluminum Intake and a Edelbrock 650 CFM 4 Barrel Carb (original parts come with the car)....as well as added an Auburn Posi Rear End....with 3:23 gears...... She runs great! This car gets all of the looks and is a pleasure to drive. I am selling the car because it doesn't get driven enough and this is a car that should be driven a lot more during the summer months. I was at a car show recently....over 750 cars registered and the exact same car....but a 1972 version took the People's Choice award.....you can't beat the RED/WHITE color combination. Feel free to ask any questions....or request any additional pictures. Like I have said, the car is a dream to drive and it runs great. It was a solid car before restoration....no bondo or filler anywhere....she's all sheemetal. She also comes with a spare tire and matching SSIII rim....the tire is brand new. The latch on the console cover was broken originally....so the cover is just sitting on the console.....can't and haven't been able to find a latch. Good luck bidding! On Oct-18-10 at 09:56:05 PDT, seller added the following information: I have received multiple requests for a picture with the Top Up...as well as the underbody.... So I have posted a picture of each. Also - the car has KYB Gas Shocks all around....and the picture of the underbody was taken right out of restoration...before the W-27 Rear End Cover. Lastly....I haven't changed the speedo gear in the transmission, so the speedometer is 25 MPH faster than you are actually traveling. The car is in the detail shop right now getting detailed....so it will be in its most prestine state for the new owner. On Oct-18-10 at 14:25:34 PDT, seller added the following information: Several more things....because I want to be sure everythign is know about the car to the potential future owner...... The car has the RARE factory outside air temp thermometer my the drivers side rear view mirror. Also - the stainless steel upper hood molding is not on the hood.....the thickness of the hood at that location would make for an extremely tight fit... It can be installed, but I chose not to to avoid the potetial scratching, etc.... So the molding is in the trunk. I also out a MSD HEI Ignition system in the car when I installed the new intake and carburator. Also - the top has a glass window...it was the Premium Top offered by Year One. It also has Air Conditioning....and a new compressor, but the system wasn't charged after the oil charge was put in after restoration...so if you want the A/C to work...simply charge it with R-134A and she will be ready to blow cold air.On Oct-19-10 at 20:04:35 PDT, seller added the following information: Due to numerous questions about the same thing.....I am going to post the answer for everyone to see. The rear bumper was an re-manufactured original purchased from BAP. The front bumper is the original bumper that came with the car....it was decent enough to keep it original. The engine has roller rockers, roller timing chain set, and new everything. It is still so new that she runs a little warmer than normal due to the tight fit, etc. There is a 180 degree thermostat in cooling system...and she runs in the 190-200 degree range. A new radiator was also part of the restoration. The hood was a Year One purchase....It is one of the best fitting fiberglass hoods I have ever seen right out of the box. Normally, they are twisted or don't fit very good....but this one looks great. Also...new springs and foam was put in the seats....and its not even broken in yet...so you sit firm in the buckets. In summary about everything about this car.....if you are looking for the numbers matching original W-30 convertible....get your checkbook out and get ready to write 6 figures. This car is a great car...its fun to drive.....it looks great and gets all of the head turns.....and can be enjoyed for many years to come. I always say no car is ever perfect....but this one is damn close. Lastly....I will help in anyway to get the car loaded on a transport if the car needs to be shipped. I would recommed FED-EX Custom Passport...yes, Fed-Ex ships cars. They have shipped several cars for me and can load the car right on my street.
