Up for auction this week is a family vehicle handed down thru the ages to the current family member. (Now relisted with NO RESERVE! There was great interest in the last two listings, but no one wanted to commit to a purchase. There were almost 100 people watching the auction which brought a few genuine people to the table, & almost 1900-views! We were pleasantly surprised at how much interest there was in the car. Be aware that is a very nice older car that can virtually be driven most anywhere, but there are risks involved with such an older vehicle.) 1948 Plymouth 'Special Deluxe', 4-door Sedan, Straight-6cylinder Flathead type engine that we believe could very well be original condition & possibly never been apart. It starts all the time & has no major issues. It is equipped with a manual transmission with the column-style shifter that works great. The exterior condition is in very good shape. There may be a couple very small defects, but nothing that takes away from the authenticity or originality of the vehicle. The tires are in excellent condition & very well cared for. No issues driving this vehicle around town or at speed down the highway. The interior condition is excellent. The only thing that we know of for sure that is not operational is the OE radio. That might simply be that way because there is no OE antenna at this time. And to clear up one question & make sure everyone is aware, ..., Yes, the front-door window on the passenger-side does have cracks in the glass. It is secure & won't fall apart, but you may elect to replace it someday. It is operational as you can see in the photos we have taken photos with it up & with it down. Replacement glass is available on Ebay occasionally. The color may not be original, but has been repainted in a 'Claret Red' with 6-coats of color & 3-coats of clear.
