Vehicle Detail
1977 Fiat spider 124 convertible. Racing seats, rebuilt motor. Body is in good shape with no rust spots that i can see. Paint is OK but its a cheap paint job and down the road would be much better to have a better paint job. just over 100k miles. Runs but needs a mechanics touch to run a lot better, after it warms up it does seem to run OK and has good power, but bogs down in the mid range of the RPM's , once past the midrange of rpms it has enough power to make the car go pretty good. Idles fine once its warmed up. At first start .... cold the car barley runs until its warmed up a bit. I'm not a mechanic... and dont want to put any work into the car.... so its time for it to go on ebay to someone who wants to restore it. Covertible top is in decent shape.... no rips tears and seems to close and open well. The boot cover is also there and in good shape. This fiat has dual webber carbs which need to be calibrated properly to run right (or just swap to a single barrrel to avoid the hassle of dual carbs), which i suspect is part of the probelm with how it runs. Tires have tons of tread, but you can see little cracks in the rubber due to age and sitting there, i would replace them. Brakes and steering work very good. This car has a modded electronic ignition that removed the old points and replaced with an all solid state design which is much better than original. you can drive this car on my drive way to check it out (400 ft driveway) since the car has been registered non operational with the DMV for about five years. The DMV title is clear. Parts of the interior have been botched by someone who was trying to cover up some of the panels with a light gray vinyl material. I would go with the original black vinyl and have those redone. Anyone serious about the car is welcome to come check it out at my place here in riverside CA. The winning bidder should have this car towed to wherever your mechanic is and gone through thoroughly, but it is driveable.
