Vehicle Detail

I bought this wonderful and rare vehicle several years ago and have driven it with great pleasure. Now, however, I have another horseless carriage and so it's time to pass this one along to a deserving enthusiast. At present there are only eight 1914 B37's registered with the Horseless Carriage Club. The 1914 Buick B37 is a large car with a long wheel base. With 37 horsepower the B37 was the largest four cylinder engine Buick made at the time. Buick's overhead valve engines were known for their power and great reliability. To emphasize this point, this car participated in the 1982 Pebble Beach, CA to Jekyll Island, GA VMCA reliability tour and the 1979 Key West,FL to Halifax,NS reliability tour. My wife and I myself toured this Buick in the 2006 HCCA Savannah National tour driving the car, during the course of a week, over 100 miles per day. You can see pictures of the Buick in the Horseless Carriage Gazette. The car has an overdrive but presently the control lever in the cockpit has been removed to display a more original appearance. The paint is not perfect. Close up it has cracks and scratches. The body, however, is very sound without a speck of rust. The tires are good. It has a Optima battery. Personally, I would recommend touring as is, but if you decide to totally restore the car you couldn't ask for a better starting point. The car is fun and to most people appears to be in original condition but I believe it was probably "restored" at some time in the past. The wheels are excellent. The nickel plating is good. The upholstery is good, as is the top. Included are side curtains and rain wings. This 1914 B37 Buick is not the flashiest of horseless carriages but it is certainly among the strongest and most reliable and will give many many more years of service. The car has never overheated even with extended idling or hill climbing. 1914 was Buick's first year for electric starting. It spins the engine over well and it starts quite easily. The engine leaks a small bit of oil (surprise) but it never burns oil and never smokes. Also I installed a new leather clutch when I first bought the car a number of years ago. Jerry On Oct-28-10 at 16:58:55 PDT, seller added the following information: Title: I hope I haven't caused any inconvenience but I just realized this car has no title in the traditional sense. In Georgia there were no car titles issued before the 1960's and still today Georgia will not issue a title for any car built before 1985. The lady at the tag office assured me that other states will honor this as long as the new owner presents a valid Georgia registration and a notarized bill of sale both of which I will provide to the buyer. If this troubles you, check with your local tag office. Since the car has not reached the reserve I trust no one has been harmed by my forgetting to include this information. My apologies.
