Vehicle Detail
1955 Buick Century 4-Door Hardtop ENJOY THE VIDEO ABOVE This car was recently acquired from the original family. It is a very well preserved original car that showcases original paint, body, and interior. Factory chalk markings are still prominent in many areas too. Enjoy our photos! The factory 322 cubic inch V8 features a recent upper engine rebuild and was modified to run on unleaded gasoline. It is equipped with the Dynaflow automatic transmission. This is a car that runs, drives, and stops well. It is turn-key and ready to enjoy. Harley Earl was the designer of the Buick Century, one of his personal favorites. Finished in factory Dove White & Nile Green, this Buick Century displays beautifully. This example showcases all original sheetmetal and is a rust-free example throughout. The interior is in excellent, unrestored condition. Open the door to 1955. The instruments display well as does the dash and steering wheel. The horn and lighting is working. The 2-tone seating is well preserved and not torn, showing minimal wear and beautiful colors. The stance is courtesy of the factory wheels & hubcaps wrapped in whitewall poly-bias tires. The 1955 Century Series & Roadmasters featured the four prominent portholes on each side. The engine compartment displays the strong running 322 cubic inch V8 with pride. As you can see, the major original components are intact. The original owner coined the phrase displayed and we just left it alone. The original breather is untouched as is the windshield washer tank. The firewall, inner fenders, and core support are dry climate solid and original. The original trim & model identification plate is intact. The undercarriage displays original floor pans, flooring, and trunk metal throughout. This is an undetailed underbody in excellent condition. The frame and bracing is solid, straight and original, again undetailed. The door undersides are original and excellent. The factory V.I.N. plate is in place. Surprisingly, the original rubber weatherstrip is still pliable throughout this car, a testament to the care given to this Buick over the years. The original paint shows wear on closer inspection, although still very presentable. This is a car that is free of filler or repair work. The original brightwork is in exceptional condition as well. There is an area of flaking chrome on the front bumper photoed as well. The E-Z Eye Safety plate glass is in very good condition throughout. The window mechanisms work correctly. The doors, hood, and trunk lid fit straight. The trunk is in amazing condition. This is the original trunk mat and paneling. Notice that the original jacking information is still in place as is the jacking equipment, and spare wheel/tire. The original trunk lid insulation is in place as well. The headliner displays polished bows and is in excellent condition. The Sonomatic AM radio is in beautiful condition, but is not working. The fuel sight bowl is intact. The rear ashtray assembly is in place Complete, with lighter. The original door panels are in excellent condition. The rear seating is in excellent condition. Enjoy the remaining photos.
