1970 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX MODEL SJ, SIERRA YELLOW WITH SANDALWOOD INTERIOR, 455 CU. IN. HO WITH 370 HP AND AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. PHS papers I got with this GP show it was originally purchased from Rogers Pontiac & Cadillac in Shelby NC. This was the last year the 455 engine was rated at 370 hp and only a little over 5000 SJ's were made that year. This GP has recently had new brakes; master cylinder & booster; exhaust system; shocks;tires;front end alignment and the previous owner had it repainted in the original color. The AC compressor and brackets have been removed an it will need to be restored and also the cruise control switch in the turn signal lever must have been replaced with just a turn signal lever, it will also need to be restored. The interior is in very good condition, the headliner; carpets; seats and door panels all look very good but the console has a crack in it and the trim piece under the steering column looks like it is a different color. The radio works but it's just an AM radio and the clock is not working.The front bumper is ok but the rear bumper has a little dent in it and both could be rechromed.The engine is mostly original except for the exhaust manifolds which are ram air type and it has a summit protorque starter. The chrome valve covers were replaced because of some rust but I acquired a set of good used ones which will go with the car. The rear end is a 12 bolt non posi.
