118,326 miles, 4X4, 4WD, 4 Cylinder 2.4L (2389 cc), Manual, 5-speed, A/C, Cap, Intermittent Wipers. Best I can tell from trying to interpret the VIN and looking at the Haynes manual is that it's a Z24 engine. This is an oldie but a goodie. It is a classic, meaning you can get classic plates and not have to renew them! We affectionately call him Lumpy, but of course, you can rename him after you buy him, if you like. Now, I love this truck and have put some work into him like a new transmission, head gasket, clutch master cylinder, some suspension bushings, brakes, exhaust, etc. I bought him thinking it was just going to be temporary, like for the summer or something, but he proved to do very well in the snow, the 4x4 works great, and so I kept him. However, the time has come to upgrade a bit so I went out to Colorado and bought a 1995 version of this very truck (actually they share the same Haynes manual - #72030 Nissan/Datsun Pick-up 1980 thru 1997). Now we have been using this truck to help in our move (granted it's only 1/2 mile each way), but we've used him to move heavy stuff like firewood and he just keeps on tickin'. Anyway, he hasn't been abused or anything, he's just getting very tired and needs someone with a lot more time, money, and/or knowledge than I have to offer. However, there are certainly some things that need attention. I took it in to the helpful and friendly folks at Kinney's Complete Auto Repair and 4 Wheel Drive Center near Traverse City and got a pre-purchase inspection to see what I was up against (I'm pretty sure I have a copy if you're interested in the original, but here's the transcription): - spare tire missing (in picture but I have one for it) - brake fluid low and black - required service rear diff. - neutral safety switch not installed - no license lights - battery terminals corroded - engine has dead miss, air box full of oil, oil pressure very low (25 psi) - engine has ticking noise and runs rough - exhaust is very rusty, will need extensive exhaust work - brake & fuel lines very rusty - both front brake hoses are split - pitman and idler arm loose - left lower control arm bushing is broken - hoses original, replace as maint. - drive line vibration - tried A/C and nearly stalled engine - exhaust leak in front of engine - emission tube cracked - rusted muffler in & out - weak exhaust clamps - right-front brake dragging - stuck caliper - rear brakes 5/32 - sleeves rusty - rear outer CV boots split and leaking - control arm bushings dry rotted - play in bearings - wheelpack loose - left front lower control arm bushing broken - rusty body Also mentioned were that the motor mounts were completely compressed and that the engine is riding on the control arms?!
