1966 dodge camper van for sale. This has the unique and rare aluminum popup top that is in very good condition. Almost all the original camper interior is still there with only the stove missing and the cooler was replaced with a refrig. Even the original bunk cots are included. The van was originally a 273 V8 with an automatic but the previous owner replaced the engine a number of years ago with a 318 V8 from a 1972 Challenger. The person I bought it from had owned it since 74 when he bought it from the original owner. Records of all the work he did on it are included. PO also installed a 3:23 posi rear with an aftermarket rear sway bar and tow hitch. The van had been sitting for a number of years before I bought it. Runs and drives but does need some work to make it road worthy. I changed the oil, thermostat, had the gas tank cleaned, installed a new fuel filler hose and fuel gauge sending unit – all gauges work. Lots of extra parts are included, carbs, distributor, heater core, leaf springs, brake drums, new master cylinder, new Y pipe, etc. Also another set of stock wheels and a front bumper. Most of the rust in the pics is surface rust. It does need body work but most of the areas needing attention are available as aftermarket panels at a low cost (check ebay). It is currently not road worthy, needs tires, brakes checked out, carb rebuild, tuneup, etc. Glass is good except half of the windshield is foggy, but its flat glass so it is inexpensive. Lots of documentation comes with it including several brochures with great info. This is a rare opportunity to get a nearly complete vintage camper van with an 8 cylinder & automatic for a great price. Clean NJ title. It will not last long.
