1976 Honda MR-250 Elsinore. One year model. I am having to sell another one of my collectables due to the economy. In most cases, bikes will look worse in person than pictures reveal. This will be the other way around as these picture do not look as good as the bike does 'in the flesh', so please be aware of this fact. All original including the tires which still have 85% tread left and no checking/cracking. Anything that appears as dents in the tank are the results of reflections/lighting. I purchased the bike from the original owner with 1401 miles. It was always stored indoors and 100% of the miles were put on riding the pine needle covered logging trails in northern Michigan. It starts, idles, shifts and runs as new. We did pull the cylinder and inspect the piston & rings which looked excellent. We went ahead and lightly honed the cylinder and installed a new Honda standard size piston & rings and went with the copper CR-250 Elsinore head gasket as it slightly raises the compression for a small power increase. I had initially intended to ride/use it when purchased several years ago, but realized that the bike is much to nice to risk tearing it up. I carefully only rode it 14 miles on ATV-wide trails to help seat in the new piston & rings and it sure was fun. Hopefully it will go to someone that will keep it in this original near new condition. The Hi & Lo beam and tail light work as does the original early 'one off-one on' position kill switch (everything works as new). There is no fading of the tank paint anywhere, but may appear that way only due to sunlight in pictures. The side covers have slight rub marks from jeans, but original owner did not wear Motocross boots, so it is very minimal. If I have to 'nit-pick', the tank has a couple very small imperfections which are hard to find. You must get in the right position and lighting to find them (will not show in pictures). There is a small 1/4" inch hole in the seat at the right side back area. The swingarm has some corossion on the top in front of the back tire. The fenders have a few minor scratches, nothing that noticable. The sticker on the headlight shell has a little dirt under the edges. No one that has seen the bike has noticed or mentioned these things and have just been amazed at the stunning overall condition. I don't want any unhappy buyers, so am disclosing any and all defects that I am aware of. The air filter looked excellent during inspection, but crumbled to the touch. I have installed the correct aftermarket 'Uni' brand air filter. Transmission oil has been changed. The bike is ready to go and needs nothing. I have the tool kit and owners manual (the manual appears that it has never been opened). I have the original MSO (Statement of Origin), which is not a title, but the original dealer given document which is the proof of origin for title application.
