Vehicle Detail

Mileage on the odomoter reads 48,742 but this is a 1987 GMC Truck so the odomoter I'm sure has flipped around since it resets after 99,999.9 miles. I bought the truck in 2003, and have not put much mileage on it during these 7 years, but for the first 16 years I would guess the odomoter was reset maybe 2 or 3 times. The A/C is not running, but the automatic windows gives a cool breeze as long as you're not stuck in traffic. The radio does function, just was not my intentions to go all out with a cd player and subwoofers in an older truck. The tires have alot of tread still left when I replaced in 2003. I've put in a new radiator, a new alternator, a new water pump, new hoses, etc. I did put some money aligning the truck and putting in new inner & outer tie rods. The brakes on the front and back were replaced. The transmission on the truck glides smoothly. Now the bad news. Yes there are rust spots on the truck, what else can be expected with a 23 year old truck. The cab roof sagged, so I pinned it back up, but it can also be replaced with a new one or sprayed on if you'd like. The dual gas tank on the truck works fine on the driver's side, but on the passenger's side there is a hole in the tank so it will need to probably be replaced if wanting to fill both up and switch between them. The engine does not start at this point and I'm not a mechanic to tell you what kind of rebuild it'll need. This will be a great truck for the man or woman that's wanting to treat her right and get her back running. If I had more skills and money I'd replace the engine today so I can keep driving, but like all of us I do have to get rid of clutter and downsize. This is an 8 cylinder engine, I dont know the size since the VIN # read out its a 6 cylinder truck. I'm assuming its not the original.
