Vehicle Detail
I am relisting my brother's 1948 Studebaker pickup truck for him because of an inconsiderate non-paying bidder. I don't know a whole lot about this truck but I am sure that you Studebaker guys out there would. I will start with what I know (or at least what I believe). I believe that this is a 1948 but it could be a 1949. My brother bought it from an old woman about 5 years ago or so near where he was living at the time. I believe the woman said it was her husband's who had passed on. What i believe is that this is a 1/2 ton. It comes with an inline L-head 6 cylinder and a 3 speed transmission. The engine does not run and I think that it is not tight. The carburetor and the radiator have been removed however they are inside the truck. The truck is in tough shape overall however there is a lot there to work with. It seems mostly complete but there are rust holes especially in the floor of the cab by the doors and in the rear corners of the cab. Like I said, this would make a great father/son project. From what I have read, the Studebaker pickup around these years are desireable because of the smooth body lines and very futuristic styling for its day. I have seen some pretty nice rods made out of these trucks. I haven't seen alot of these around and they are getting fewer as the days go on so don't pass up a chance to own one at a very resonable price. I have more pictures that I can send if you like just let me know. If you have any questions, please let me know and I will try my best to answer them. The truck does not have a title and would need to be picked up as he cannot ship it. I can however assist in loading it as long as it would not be too difficult. As far as payment is concerned, he prefers cash, you know real greenbacks. No checks, credit cards or money orders, just plain old cash. And, please, no non-paying bidders. Neither him nor I have time for that. If you are truly interested and you have the financial means, please bid and bid to win. Good luck and happy bidding!! I have been informed in a couple of emails that this truck is indeed a 1949. Sorry for any confusion. Due to Ebay's new feedback policy, I reserve the right to cancel bids from any member who has negative or no feedback and/or no transactional history. Sorry, just trying to protect myself.
