1949 Buick Super Sedanette If you’re a vintage Buick fan, you’re going to love this Texas Treasure Hunter find. This is a fantastic 1949 Buick Super Sedanette. The car has been under a restoration that was ended by the past owner due to personal issues. This car is nearly ready for paint and likely just needs some final sanding. (But I’m not a body man.) The past owner said the original straight eight engine was rebuilt a few years back and hasn’t yet seen the road. I heard it running a few days ago when I purchased the car. He claimed the carburetor still needed a cleaning/rebuild. The car has its original manual three speed transmission. The brakes where said to have been gone through and do have good pressure. The dash is in fantastic condition and even the original steering wheel and chrome on the wheel is in fine shape. I’ve been told the car is nearly 100% complete with just a few trim moldings said to be missing in action on the passenger door. The car comes with a sun visor, wheel skirts and the original radio in a box said to still be working. The body is very nice with minimal filler and the trunk and floors and amazingly solid. The rear glass and rear side glass is nice. The door flat glass and windshield has cracks. But it’s easy to replace flat safety glass. All but one tire holds air and it will long enough to load on a trailer. The grill is nice but dull and should get rechromed. The front and rear bumpers also are dull but in nice shape. The rear bumper has a small dent on the corner. The car comes with the original owner’s manual and shop manuals and some new fender webbing and new paint products that I was told cost over $150 for the two products. This will be a truly elegant classic car when finished and it seems most of the hard work is done!!! Please contact Hawkeye with your questions before bidding at 808-205-8414.
