1966 Corvair Coupe 2dr Az barn find of sorts comes with clear title Original color was AZTEC BRONZE with Black Interior with bucket seats. Very complete for its age And being an AZ CAR expect little to no rust on the body chassis. We put a battery in it, poured some gas down both carbs jumped the ignition wires (no key was provided) and the car started and ran for 5-6 seconds off the fuel. Sounded decent too for sitting for so long. Im considering buying an new ignition switch and clear out the fuel lines and make it more driveable. Brakes need to be bleed. Pass front window is missing. I honestly dont think it would take much work. What you will see in the pics below is: Chrome in great shape too thanks to AZ. The only rust I could find was the driver side lower front fender. Most of the carpets been removed too, floors have mild surface rust on the inside. Ive been all over and Under the car, and have pics to below to prove our claims. Check out ALL the pics below and you can see for yourself. Drivers side window okay, but regulator bad non functional. Would be easier to restore then a rust bucket and have as a fun driver. Az sun has been hard on the paint and interior but not on the sheetmetal. Obviously this is not a restored car. A VERY RARE AND HARD TO FIND Corvair Coupe 2dr this is easily my favorite year and body style We really try to have realistic reserves on all of our auctions and want to sell cars, not sit on them for another year. LOTS OF PICS, it may take a full minute for them all to load if you have a slow connection, so be patient. This is a great car to restore and would do so nicely. It needs interior, paint and probably some suspension work but it is an example of a era long gone. Remember: they arent making anymore :) My take is this has been in Az its whole life. Az gets maybe 12" a yr of rain. The more you go over this car, the cooler it gets ! If there is a winner, they have the option to also buy these 14x7 Camaro alloy wheels too for $200 for the set. I think they would be a nice upgrade for the car And if it went back to the stock color, they would look great ! If you treat yourself to buying one of our cars even one this rough, youll never buy a rust bucket again from anyone !! Our feedback speaks for itself !! Doing restoration on this type of project is less labor intensive which means overall cost is less too ! With less horrid surprises later on. On Sep-08-10 at 20:49:35 PDT, seller added the following information: dr side window regulator okay No key for the front trunk area or Id show some pics working on opening it tomorrow so I can add them to the auctionOn Sep-11-10 at 18:18:04 PDT, seller added the following information: Got the front trunk open and found the headlight bezels in excellent shape. It is very clean and very good shape for its age. Mild rust on the very bottom area, could be sanded, primered and refinished in very little time. I may actually attack it on Sunday. A very sanitary trunk by most standards and no worries of rust like most Vairs this old. I put the front hood trim and lock in the back seat of the car for now.
