1973 VOLKSWAGEN “THING” Fun, Fun, Fun!!! This car is fun to drive. This is a 1973 Volkswagen “THING.” For its age it’s in great shape. The car has spent most of the last three years in a garage in Texas. But…the car starts right up and runs very smooth and strong with zero smoke. All I did was put a new battery in it. I drove the car today around the neighborhood and it drives nice. The frontend is tight and it steers nice. The transmission shifts very nicely and the clutch feels good. The brakes stop the car as they should as well. All the lights… turn signals, horn, wipers, hazards lights, emergency brake and even the backup lights work. Oh the car comes with a nice sounding CD player. The body is very nice. I have only noticed one small dent in the front…but it’s not bad. The paint has chips and scratches but holds a shine and looks pretty good. The tires are like brand new all the way around and the transmission the past owner said was rebuilt not long ago. The top will keep the sun off your head but it’s not in great shape. I don’t have the side windows. The body is very solid but the original floor pans were repaired. I think original replacements are available. All in all, this THING is in pretty nice shape. It comes with a clear TEXAS title. Please call Hawkeye at 808-205-8414 for your questions before bidding.
