Vehicle Detail

This auction is for a barn fresh 1930 Model A stake body truck. This truck has always been a local truck here in Berks county Pennsylvania. The present owner has recently passed away and it is being sold by his widow. She told me that her husband being a farmer found it sitting in a neighbors barn covered with hay. He was able to buy it from it's original owners, and he brought it home and placed it in his barn with the hope of being able to restore it. Sadly before he was able too he passed away. This truck is also a very rare truck as it falls within those few months during the change over from the earlier square cab of 1928- 29 Model A's to the more rounded style of the 1930 cab. So this truck is a 1930 but yet it has the 29 cab, with a few differences being made. This truck also has it's original bed with all it's original wood sides and hardware. It even has the wood slats that fill in the openings between the wood sides so that it could also be used to haul grain or corn. The bed sides are in very nice shape, and I feel they must of been removed and stored inside the better part of their life as they still retain most of their factory paint. The cab and fenders do have surface rust, but all and all the metal is in very good restorable condition. The left front fender has been banged on the front side, but it also is restorable or easily replaced. The neat part about this truck is how intact it is from the day it was bought new. It still has the spare tire carrier that came with it when it was new. These often ended up being lost over the years. this truck stills has it's last Pa inspection sticker dated 1961. It still retains it's original 1930 style headlights and even has the original horn. I checked the engine for an engine number but the area where it would be stamped is smooth without any stampings at all. It does retain all the original engine equipment such as, carburetor, distributor, fan and everything else does look original. This truck would make an excellent truck to restore and brought back to it's original beauty. It is being sold with a bill of sale. As always please do not hesitate to ask any questions you may have, and I will do my best to get an answer for you.
