Cool, Cool, Cool! 68 Bug Convertible! NEW ENGINE and other parts. GREAT DRIVER-NEEDS NOTHING! So here's the deal... My wife always wanted a Bug Convertible, so I found this one for her right here on eBay for $6,550.00 I flew to CA to drive it home. I drove it about 70 miles and blew the engine. I had the car towed to All VW Restoration and Repair, and flew home. As you can see from the receipts (pictured), I had a new dual port 1600 installed, along with a new clutch, engine compartment seal, axle boot, trans mount, etc. While it was there, I also had them go through and make sure it was safe to drive home. They replaced tie rods, brake wheel cylinders, fuel gauge, etc. and also rebuilt the window regulators. All told, I put another $3,150.00 into it at All VW. After checking into plane tickets and shipping costs, I elected to pay $650.00 to get it delivered. It now runs great and has zero issues as a driver, and has less than 1,000 miles on the engine. So....I have $10,350 into this little bug and I find out that my wife REALLY likes the Super Beatle better. We found a very nice 74 Super Beatle and bought it (for $12,500). She loves the blue one...the red one is for sale! This is a very cool, old style bug. I actually prefer the flat windshield, small tail lights, and beam front axle of this one, but the car is for her and she likes the other one. I can't afford to keep both. Please look closely at the pictures. It's very nice, but not show quality. The paint quality, while fine for driving is not perfect, etc. I will be happy to take any more pictures and email to you if requested. I will also be happy to answer any questions you may have.
