Vehicle Detail

True 1979 Y84 Special Edition Matching #s, Build Sheet, Window Sticker, PHS Docs 78k Original Miles Introduction: Up for auction is an extremely nice 1979 Pontiac Trans Am Special Edition "Bandit". I will spare you the all the Smokey and the Bandit clichés and get down to the business of this fine classic. In 1979 this Trans Am was purchased new at Lester Goodson Pontiac in Houston Texas. The car is an extremely nice Special Edition, and is an all original collector piece. Let's take a walk around it and see what she has to offer. Exterior: Drenching all of the classic Trans Am lines is a lustrous Starlight Black (code 19) paint. The paint and body are in excellent condition with no rust and a deep, silky, shine. There are a couple of small scratches on the rear bumper but nothing requiring paint work. All of the gold pinstripping and decals that perfectly accent the car are in great condition with no fading, cracking, or pealing. The hood bird has a few small defects but they are very small, undetectable from 5 feet away. All the glass is in great condition and is chip, scratch, and crack free. The Fisher T-tops fit snuggly into place, are in great condition, and seal very well. Interior: Open either door and step into nicely appointed muscle car interior. The original black deluxe Hobnail interior is in outstanding condition and has been nicely preserved. Seats show minimal wear but no rips, tears or stains. Carpet, door panels, headliner, console, etc are in great shape as well. Dash has a small curl on the leading edge closest to the windshield, its about 1/4 inch. The interior is totally complete and functional. All of the gauges function properly, gauge lights are bright and work nicely with the dimmer. Power windows work well. Power door lock solenoids click, but don't actuate the locking mechanisms. Cruise control is not working at the current time as well, but all the components are present. The factory AM/FM Stereo 8 Track radio works very well and sounds great. Mechanical: Turn the key and bring to life the numbers matching 6.6L 403 Olds V8. The engine runs very strong and is incredibly smooth. There has never been any leaks or smoking of any kind. She always starts and has never left me stranded. The TH350 trans shifts out nice and firm the way it is supposed. The car handles and drives very effortlessly. The steering is responsive and tight with no slop at all. The brakes bring everything to a halt promptly and smoothly. The snowflake rims are in great shape and are wrapped new Sigma rubber. The engine bay is completely original with the exception of the coolant reservoir, it was recently replaced. Compartment is so original even the GM valve cover stamp still is visible on the driver's side cover. All of the A/C components are present and in great condition, but it does not blow cold. Compressor does move freely. The car still even maintains most of the original exhaust. It has been replaced from the catalytic converter back. I have a copy of the original window sticker, build sheet, all of the PHS docs as well as some vehicle registration and insurance records that track the cars history. Again this is a very reliable car, one that you can jump in everyday or once a month and it will fire right up and never leave you stranded on the side of the road. Details: Thank you for taking the time to walk around this gorgeous 1979 Special Edition Trans Am. If you have any questions or feel I have left something out, please don't hesitate to shoot me an email or call, (502) 316-4857. Buyer is responsible for a $500 deposit within 48 hours of auction completion and the balance is due within seven days of auction's end. I reserve the right to hold the vehicle's title until all checks clear my bank. Buyer is responsible for shipping charges. I have shipped a few cars and can help when and where I can. I can usually get better rates working directly with the transport company as opposed to using a brokerage service. Thanks again for looking and Happy Bidding!!!
