This is a 1961 Austin Healey 3000 offered for sale. Extensive restoration has been completed on this car.The gas tank was removed, high pressure cleaned and sealed with ceramic coating. The radiator was steamed out and cleaned as well as pressure tested.The frame has been welded where needed, coated in waxoil. The floors, trunk, inner and outer sills, fire wall, and footwells were removedand replaced with new body panels.A repacement BJ8 engine with electric overdrive was found and installed The serial number of the engine begins with 29K......... and I think indicates a 1967 engine. The engine ticks over nicely.I do not know Austin Healeys so any help would be appreciated.Dash instruments have been gone through and the generator was tested. The starter was replaced as well.New adjustors on the rear drum brakes and new pads for the front discs. Door hinges have been removed and realigned. The car was sand blasted, sealed in red oxide and painted in black primer. With very light feather sanding , the body is ready to paint.Trunk lid, hood and doors have been refitted to factory spec. Five wire wheels were sanded and painted silver. New tires were added.Original dealer installed AM radio is still in place. We have not glued down the heat and sound insulation to the floors so that they may be viewed.Heater motor has been checked out. The starter motor has been replaced.The exhaust comes straight out of the headers as the tailpipe is not installed.When the body was stripped, the serial number on the body was removed and lost. The only serial number we have is the engine which starts with 29K, a late model BJ8 engine according to Moss. I know later Healeys have roll up windows and this one has side windows.This Healey has front disc brakes and rear drum ones.According to the NC DMV, 35 Year Old Car, The Austin Healey will come with a notarized Bill of Sale.
