Vehicle Detail

1973 Honda XR-75 KO. The bike starts instantly and idles, shifts and runs perfect. Engine number: XR75E - 1017370 (original to the frame). This bike was a very nice 100% complete/original bike in every way when I bought it down to the original tires. All the bolts, bits and brackets are correct for this first year model and some are getting impossible to find. I have never been into the engine and am assuming it is standard bore. The bike has the original/actual 37 year patina besides the new paint. Many restorers polish the aluminum parts to a chrome like finish, but I prefer the stock Honda look. For some reason, the restored bikes with the polished parts (valve cover, lower fork legs, wheel hubs & panels) bring quite a bit more than an original patina bike, which I will never understand. Sure, there is the labor involved, but it doesn't work that way for value on restored cars! Car collectors want original patina or restored to original finish. Oh well... My painter somehow thought that the fenders were supposed to be striped, so you may want to re-paint them without the stripes (automotive paint code on this bike is 914K). The professional paint job set me back $500 and is absolutly flawless. I also installed a NOS/New Old Stock later model XR-75 exhaust and it sounds just like the original. New chain and sprockets. The front tire is near new with a new back tire - a 3.60 X 14 (original size was 3.00 X 14). The handlebars are the originals and the original front number plate has not been repainted. You can find some very mild surface scratches here and there on the plate which is a testimony of the low useage the bike has had through it's 37 years. The bike has the proper "elbow" throttle cable which are almost extinct. No stripped/repaired or broken engine/ foot peg bar mounts. No frame breaks/fixes. The engine skid plate looks very straight and undamaged. Please e mail with any other questions. Sold with a bill of sale.
