Vehicle Detail

$8000 In Newly Rebuilt 1968 Ford F-100 - $3500 (Martinez GA) In this listing I am selling my 1968 Ford F100 longbed. I have recently put a massive amount of work into the truck as a restoration project. Over the past 9 months or so I have purchased a couple thousand dollors in interior cab items like molded carpet and trim, molded heat and sound deadener for floorboard, seat and covers, custom headliner with built-in speakers, sun visors, door trim kits, new chrome instrument cluster, padded dash cover, etc... Maaco had given me a quote of about $300 to prep, prime, and refinish the interior of the cab. I also have the factory underdash AC unit that can be reinstalled after the cab is painted, as well as a new metal floorboard (drivers side) to cover a bad rust spot that can be welded in after cab is prepped// primed. As for the mechanical stuff and how the truck runs... this is where I really sunk the money into it. The brakes had frozen up on one side so I decided to go the whole way with it and have my mechanic replace everything. New brake kits (drums) from LMC professionally installed by simply automotive. (well over $1200) Next was the rear end. A piece on the axle housing rusted out and broke off. My mechanic said to take it to Weeks transmission in downtown Augusta, because they can do custom work like this. They had one of their classic/antique contacts make a new rear end for it and ship it to them for installation. (I think about $1300 on this one) Then I purchased the items off Ebay and LMC and had my mechanic convert it over from manual to power steering; Wat a relief! ($600ish) Finally the motor...(360 manual w/3spd on clm) it was both leaking oil and burning about a qt every 2 weeks so... my mechanic suggested instead of throwing parts at the problem just bite the bullet and rebuild or replace. I priced out both and decided to have Carolina Machine Engines rebuild it from scratch. They bored it out with the "extra" torque option in case I wanted to tow something and it would give it 20-25 more Hp. When they got it in the shop they noticed a hairline crack in he manifold. So, instead of going back with the standard manifold - exhaust system I got online and ordered a beautiful set of Chromed Doug Throlly Headers. ($400) Well, as you probably know, machine and engine shops dont pull and re-install they just rebuild. So I had to find a shop over the river that would pull the motor and re-install it when CME had completed the rebuild. I was referred to Mearl's Garage in Trenton SC. So John (the owner) and his guys did a great job. They called me many times through the process and gave me some great advice about what items should be replaced while the mtor was out of there. We did the standard points and plugs, dist, belts, hoses, and water pump, and he also recommended I get a new radiator installed and do a clutch pkg for the 3-speed trans while he was in there. So we did all of that too. Then CME got it back to him and he put her back together for me and I picked it up Aug 13th. ($2725.00) Later that week I needed to do something with the exhaust since it was just the Headers coming off the motor (A little loud) so I took it to an exhaust shop and had dual 2 and a halfs with dual black Flowmasters and dual chrome tips put on. ($350) Over the past few weeks I have run into a bad financial situation and it seems I have no other option but to have to sell my little baby. Because all of these improvements are so recent this truck is quite an asset. because I need the cash quickly, my loss is going to be someone else's gain... So here is the recap... Interior items approx $1700 (maybe a little more) Brakes Parts & Labor approx $1200 Rear End Pts & Lbr approx $1300 Power steering Pts & Lbr approx $575 Headers approx $400 Engine pull/re-inst Pts & Lbr $1275 Engine Rebuild CME $1500 Exhaust Pts & Lbr $350 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Total recently installed $ 8,300.00 Dont wait, it wont last long at this price! call Mike (706) 267-9073 or email and I will get back with you soon. Thanks and good luck... Lots more pics if you want... send emails to mnpappas@comcast.net P.S. I am also going to list this on Craigslist as soon as possible and reserve the right tol end auction early if someone buys it locally.
