Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my 1967 Jeep M-715. before i go into detail about the jeep, let me tell you a little about its history. The Kaiser Jeep M715 is a 1 ¼ ton military vehicle based upon the civilian model truck known as the Jeep Gladiator. In 1965 Kaiser Jeep Corporation started the design and developing for the M715. The U.S. Government purchased these trucks to replace the expensive Dodge ¾ ton weapons carrier cargo truck known as the M37. The Government Contract called for a little over 30,000 of these trucks to be built. Production of these trucks began in 1967 and ended in 1969 with close to 33,000 trucks being produced at the Toledo, Ohio Plant. In 1969 the contract expired and the Government did not renew the contract with Kaiser Jeep Corporation to continue to build the M-715. Specifications Length: 220 in (5,588 mm) Width: 85 in (2,159 mm) Weight: 5,180 lb (2,350 kg) Height: 95 in (2,413 mm) Engine: Inline 6-cyl, 230.5ci overhead camshaft "Tornado" Horsepower: 132.5 hp (98.8 kW) Transmission: Warner, T-98 four-speed, synchronized Transfer case: 2 speed, NP200, 1.91:1 low range Axles: front: Dana 60 rear: Dana 70 full-floater ratio: 5.87:1 Electrical system: 24 volt utilizing two 12 volt batteries in series Brakes: Hydraulic, 4-wheeled drum Fuel type: gas Fuel capacity: 28 US gal (106 L; 23 imp gal) Top Speed: 55 mph (89 km/h) Turning Radius: 28 feet (9 m) Tires: 9.00 x 16 8-ply I bought this jeep about 2 1/2 years ago. when i got it, the previous owner advised me that the valves were hung up and that it wouldn't run. the jeep wasn't in the best condition, but it was mostly original, and rust free. I had only owned it for 2 days before i had it running and registered. the rocker arms had to be torqued to the correct specs' and it fired right up. since then i have replaced and added ALOT of parts - 5 new correct NDT tires - body work - new correct OD green paint - new correct stencils - new canvas top - 24 volt electric fuel pump and all new fuel lines - new oak wook troop seats/bed rails - new starteer - new air filter - correct jerry can's for the bed sides - correct hand tools mounted on the bed - military radio antenna the truck has been a blast for me to own and always draws a crowd. i hate to sell it, but i'm on the market for a house so, things that aren't a priority have to go. here's some of the down sides of the truck. the rear mail seal is 43 years old, so it leaks a little bit. the blackout light is missing off the hood. the rear shackles are missing. the speedometer and fuel gauge do not work. also the brake lights work, but do not come one when the brake is applied. So the truck isn't perfect, but it is VERY solid. would make a great canidate for a frame off restoration, or take it to parade's and show the way it sits. there is absolutely NO rust under this truck. it will start and drive. it currently has valid tags and registration. if you're local, feel free to contact mike at (443)-871-2710 to see it in person or take it for a test drive. ALOT of work has gone into this truck, and it shows. any questions you may text or e-mail me. Thanks for looking. and good luck! Shipping must be arranged by buyer. i may be able to trailer it for an additional fee depending on the distance.
