Vehicle Detail

Hi. You are bidding on my 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air 2-door hardtop. The car is in pretty good condition. I currently have it tagged and run around with it on the weekends. It is in need of some TLC, but can be driven pretty much anywhere. The body is pretty straight, but it does need some work in the rocker panels. The trunk area is good and the floors are mostly good. The interior is in need of total restoration as you can see from the pictures. It has a 1966 Corvette 327 under the hood with the stock 2 speed powerglide transmission. The car is correct to the trim tag with body color, body style and interior type and color. The only unoriginal items on the car is the 327, the dual power master cylinder and the front disc brakes that me and a friend of mine put on it, the electronic fuel pump mounted under the trunk by the rear bumper and the Centerline wheels. These are the old school centerlines too. I bought them in 1986! This is the third 57 Chevy I have had them on. Unfortunately JUST like the other two coupes I previously owned, I have to part with it due to $$$$ reasons. I love cruising this car around on the weekends to the local hangout. I bought this car from another private party that never titled it in his name and it is rumored that I am only the third TITLED owner of the car. I really have no way of checking this because it seems its age has surpassed the record keeping. The odometer reads 86847. I guess if I am the third titled owner of the car this could be true mileage, but I honestly have no idea. I still have a copy of the Maryland title from the owner that had it before me showing an issue date in September of 1976. Supposedly that owner had the car sitting in the back of a garage/shop for over 25 years before the guy I purchased it from got a hold of it. The VIN is VC57B123800. The "V" means it was a V-8 engine, the "C" means it was a Bel Air, the 57 is the year, the "B" means it was built in the Baltimore, Maryland plant and 123800 means it was the 123,800th car built in that plant. I live in what is considered the Baltimore area so it was kind of exciting to find a 57 built here at home in a plant that hasn't existed for quite some time now. Anyway, if you know these cars, you know the demand for them is still high regardless of economic situations. These cars are truly investments. I am starting at a VERY reasonable asking price with what I consider to be a VERY reasonable reserve for what they are worth when restored or fixed up. The winning bidder of this auction will be responsible for making shipping arrangements unless you are close enough to come and drive it away.
