Vehicle Detail
1970 CORVETTE COUPE - LT1 Body = 976 Blue Trim = 411 Blue Vinyl 1970 was the lowest production year for C-3 Corvettes due to a GM strike that year. Only 17,316 units were produced between January - July 1970. This 350/370 HP engine had solid lifters and was the first solid lifter small block since the 327/365 HP motor discontinued in 1965. This car has a virgin unhit body with great fit and panel gaps. It was stored in Louisiana for many years before the prior owner began a restoration in 2007. He rebuilt the engine with a factory correct Duntov 30/30 cam and standard bore. The engine is a factory replacement. Coded CE048 Stamped S405102 which matches the VIN number. He replaced the suspension bushings, installed new Delco gas shocks, replaced the gas tank, rotors, calipers and brake hoses, and the entire exhaust system. Car also has a new steering wheel, new carpet. Seats are great as are door panels (except door pulls). He ran out of cash, and I purchased planning on completing the restoration of this rare car. However, several other Corvette acquisitions have pushed this car to the back burner; hence, the decision to sell. Frame is solid with normal surface rust. Engine was very nice when I bought it but storage for two years is taking its toll. High rise manifold and big Holley (not sure if correct). This is an easy restoration of a car that is all there. Needs paint and some rechroming, dash redo, radio (have original in box), tires, etc. Nothing major. On Sep-14-10 at 12:32:50 PDT, seller added the following information:I will not be able to get to Athens this week. However, I will go up next week, get the car out of the barn, make sure it is running and try to get answers to all of the questions I received. I will also take more pictures including more numbers as possible. I may bring it back to Atlanta for ease of access. I will then relist with additional pictures and info to assist potential buyers.
