This Datsun (old Nissan) 1969 1600 or 2000 Roadster convertible is a complete, but unfinished project. By the records left with the car I see 1600 listed. By the fender tag & what I was told about the engine it might be a 2000 series. I can’t say for certain. It was purchased locally from the original owner that was an elderly lady who had not been able to drive the car, so let it sit in his garage for many years. My brother found it out and bought it back in 1996. He had a basic re-condition on the motor back in 1997 and drove it seasonally for several years. The car was dismantled about 4 years ago to restore the body. He became ill & suddenly passed in the fall of 2008. I am his older brother charged with liquidating his estate. I know very little else about this car. I am showing one found photo of the car before in was taken apart. I am very confident that all (99%) on the parts are included with this package, as he drove this car quite a bit before & after the engine work. This car was his pride & joy and he took care of it and it's components like it was a treasure. I remembered that other than the carbs needing to be rebuilt the motor ran very well. I have a stack of receipt & records that he saved from the engine work. The shell of the body is in need of a fair amount of rust repair, as I understand is pretty common with the older Datsun's. The doors, bumpers, deck lid and convertible top frame & covering seem to be very solid and nice. The car has the rallye mag wheels, factory gauge cluster & clock. The title is marked that the "mechanical limits are exceeded", by the statement of mileage, so the 54K might be entirely accurate. In trying to establish a base value for this car I found little on none for sale and even less information on it, so I am of the thought that it is pretty unique and a bit on the rarer side. None the less we must sell it to satisfy the estate. We would love to see the car go to someone who would proudly finish the dream my brother had started, but do not have the time to hold out for that. I'm sure there is at least some good value in parts to maybe combine with another to save one. This will be a NO RESERVE auction and WILL SELL to the HIGH BIDDER! The complete payment is due by Certified Bank Check or Pay-Pal within 10 days of the end of auction.
