Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE up for sale is my AD (advanced design) Chevy 5 window shop truck. i dont want to sell it cause it is so dependable and utilitarian, but life changes require i put the money elsewhere. it is a solid Texas truck, currently Florida titled and registered / insured under my name. Drivetrain / Suspension features a Chevy small block 350 motor that runs smooth. Previous owner told me it was a crate motor with approx 5,000 miles on it, but i have no way to know for sure. I can vouch on its dependable starting and smooth running. It is backed by a T350 automatic transmission that shifts smoothly, but does tend to leak a little bit. Think the source is the kick down cable seal. Trans is cooled by a small cooler mounted up front of the radiator, all hoses / lines are new. Also the oil and filter in the trans is 1 year old. The power is put down via the open drivetrain rear end which has been completely rebuilt inside, new wheel bearings, carrier bearings, new 2.73 gears for highway cruising of 70+ mph with comfortable engine rpm. The truck has a Monte Carlos front clip front the late 70's early 80's. Whoever installed it did a great job. The wheels are perfectly centered on the opening and the frame connection is very strong and boxed. It has disc brakes with brake booster and power steering thanks to the front clip. The brakes stop perfect as any car should and squeek from time to time as most cars do and the steering is very easy to turn with its new power steering box that is only a few months old and tie rod links that have been replaced. Also worth mentioning is that the front wheel bearings are brand new. The truck has also been taken to an alignment shop and rolls straight and true down the road. Its lowered stance comes from raised lower ball-joints up front and lowering blocks on the rear leaf springs. A new battery and alternator has been installed so there are no charging issues to worry about either. Even the wiring harness is a new harness with fuse box / circuit board. While the headlights, taillights, brake lights, dash lights and even hazards work; the turn signals are not because the turn signal handle is broken on the column (which is not the original column). The cooling system works as it should, the motor never goes over 200 in the hottest & humid conditions of South Florida. It cruises between 160-180. The original radiator did have a small leak at the bottom tank but it has been soldered and seems to be working well. Oil pressure on the motor is also perfect at idle and cruising speeds, which can be monitored on the autometer gauges. There is really no mechanical issues to report other than the small transmission oil that leaks. Interior wise the bench is completely redone in a nice beige vinyl, only 2 small burn marks on the driver seat to report off. There is a carpet and headliner as well as door card inserts and toe board covers in matching color / material. Almost everything that is metal has been painted in a red metallic color (not by me). The gauges as mentioned before are both brand new autometer "vintige / classic" white face that fit the truck perfectly in the original location. Only the speedometer is not working, it is an electronic system so i think the sending unit or power is not hooked up properly, i have never bothered to investigate. The steering wheel is a red metal flake 3 spoke wheel like those of the 60's and the shift knob is a hand made lucite knob in red and white. Both windows role up and down and are not cracked. The back glass however is cracked, I had a bicycle fall over and crack it, however of the 7 pieces of glass on the truck it is the only one that shows lamination separation. In other words plans were to change it out for a better looking piece. The cowl and driver side vent both work open and close as they should and provide good ventilation while driving. Also worth mentioning, the door and glass seals I recommend changing for new ones. They are rather cheap / readability available and will seal up the cab much better than the old ones that are on there. Exterior is currently painted to look weathered or patina'd. Some light body work was done before we sprayed the truck in black epoxy primer followed by gray single stage paint with some flattening agent mixed in. Once it was all dry, the gray paint was hand sanded to look aged and show some of the black epoxy that was under where it would typically show up after some years. Even a beige pinstripe has been added around the cab's belt line just like the factory did, it too is aged to match the overall look and feel of the truck. No additional pinstripes have been put on the truck. The body does not show any signs of rust but does have dings and dents, it has been used as a work truck not a show truck so gloss paint was not an option at the time. The door skins are logo-less so you can put your company logo on there and age that to match or not. Some areas of the truck are much nicer than others, the bed for instance has been used in the past and shows its age. That is fine with me, the look of the truck is all in the wheels, tires and stance. It rolls on like new 15” wheel vintique chromies, deep dish in the rear and Firestone byply tires with plenty of life left in them. front white walls are about 3" 5.60-15 pie-crust tires and the rear has almost 5" white walls on the 8.20-15. All the bullet lug nuts and center caps are also like new. The truck rolls smooth down the high way. Side view mirror and taillights (glass lenses) with brackets are all new. I have nosed and peaked the hood and shaved the badges on the side. It was done in metal with light body filler to smooth it out. The bed floor is ¾” plywood because again it is used as a truck not a show vehicle so I did not want to spend the extra money on wood slates and metal strips like the original. The wood has been stained top and bottom in ebony and varnished to protect it some, but it does have nicks and scratches from motors, transmissions even motorcycles that I have loaded on there. Overall the truck has an aggressive look to it. It has a nice contrast between the new wheels / tire look and the aged weathered body. Good thing is that the paint is fresh so the body will be protected from the elements for time to come. *please note the wood rails on the bed are not included in the sale. I have driven this truck up and down Florida on the fast lane with no issues to report, I usually cruise at 65-70 mph. Have also used it as a daily commuter in town. It is ready to cruise as is. All the hard work is done of upgrading an old truck to modern drive-train. That said, please note the vehicle is sold in "as-is" conditions, there are no warranties once the transaction is completed. The truck is being sold locally as well, so i reserve the right to end the auction early. There is a buy it now price please e-mail to inquire. Please serious inquiries / buyers only. thanks for looking! Yarilkustom51@comcast.net
