This is a partially restored 1958 metropolitan. It has had the most important things done to it that were needed. I bought it for $3000. it needed a lot of body work. I took out bondo where sheet metal should have been and installed steel pieces where needed including a passenger rear fender that was re-sectioned. I have put in over $3100 worth of parts and the receipts go with it to prove it. At this starting price it hardly pays me a nickel per hour for the 100s of hours that I've put into this car. Not only does it turn heads, but it gets more looks than a Ferrari. The car runs great, I just have other interests now. Call 248 391 2886 with any questions or email oruss@yahoo.com. Paint was done the first year I worked on it, but I've just redone it again in acrylic enamel, all except the roof which was rubbed out and polished. Mileage original 24521 New battery this summer Sound deadening beneath the floor with any bad floor sheet metal replaced New A-frame on one front wheel Engine has new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, converted to electronic ignition but could be changed back All new brakes and wheel cylinders, master cylinder has been rebuilt Clutch master and slave have been rebuilt with a new flexible line New fuel system, tank (new not refurbished, but not original as they don't exist), lines, fuel pump rebuilt New weather stripping around doors New side kick panels, covered in leather New chrome fender, over riders, grill and grill surround (parts for this was over $1200) New antenna The car is not a perfect restoration (as the price reflects), but a fun driver, it easily starts in the dead of winter and runs great.
