Vehicle Detail

NOTE: I have put about $4,500.00 into car recently. For nearly two decades old- car is in GREAT shape, looks beautiful and WILL be a collectors item so I am relisting car and STARTING auction at the old "Buy Now" price. Last auction I had like a thousand views and 19 watchers and was inundated by 'offers' that wouldn't put tires on the car, or by e-mails asking me info that is ALREADY listed. If your too lazy to read, I'm not wasting time answering questions already answered. You are bidding on a 91' Dodge Stealth with rare color combination of Mystic Blue exterior, Black leather interior and off white headliner. 168,000 or so of decently cared for miles. Additionally, there are some rare/custom emblems on car which I will get into later. There is much to say about this car but first and foremost I would like to state I have MUCH History/info/advertising/photo's etc, on the Stealth that most do not- or do not know. Some years back, in a ( vain attempt ) to even 'correct' some info that was incorrect on on-line 'Stealth' clubs- I'd started a site ( now defunct ) detailing the REAL history and some amazing facts about these cars. A for instance is that it seemed a few years back- virtually ALL on-line sites erroneously stated the 3000-GT came first and the Stealth was some kind of 'copy' etc when in fact ( and I have the e-mails to prove it ) the STEALTH came first and the design won a Chrysler Engineer an ( International Award ) and I have ( among many other items ) a rare- now impossible to find Japanese review, where-in it's obvious the Stealth was much higher thought of! ( It's in Japan's own admissions comparing the two designs ). YOU can have ALL of the rare materials, history, photo's etc- including e-mails from that design engineer ( who went on to run a major Japanese auto design firm - yes, they hire him away from Chrysler! ), this info of which I've had and knew before ( as far as I can tell- ANYONE! ) The car up for auction here- I Love. It needs some work ( don't worry- no smoke, runs strong etc ) that I will shortly detail- the kind that many with the time, tools etc could easily fix themselves or have a garage do the work and make a modest investment in a car thats becoming super rare and will surely be a great eye-stopping collectible! The main problem I have is that I recently got married and my wife has family that visit ( several grandkids too ) and there is no room in her car ( never mind the stealth ) for 6-7 people ( 3 of those car seats ) and I have to look at a family oriented vehicle. I have spent thousands of dollars within the past 2-yrs ( & have all receipts including past maintenance ) on getting transmission professionally rebuilt, New computer etc/exhaust etc. What does this car need? It's had a 'noisy' water pump ( at idle and very low speeds, but quiets down over 20 mph ) that would cost me $900.00 to pay the same garage that replaced my ECM ( which I payed $1,000.00 for ) Also, it will need brakes sometime soon, pads at least but even a complete break job in a garage would cost me about $650.00 or so and my wife and I decided it will be best to let the car go to someone who A.) Can do the work themselves at minimal cost- or B.) Pay someone to do the work ( $1,500.00 ) If you can do the brakes, even high quality brake parts ( rotors/pads/cal-kit etc ) are only between $200-$300.00 The A/C blows super cold but fan only works on high ( another easy fix ). Tires ( Goodyear GT+4's are still good/legal but plan on replacing them in near future. Car can use new struts and left frt-strut vibrates a little ( but has since I've owned the car these past 5-yrs. Interior is in great shape but a couple of seams on drivers seat, need restiching. I have factory manuals ( electrical/mechanical ) for car, every rare magazine/article- most of which are out of print now. In short, car is perfectly drivable but should be repaired. I have stats in writing for this car showing how rare the color combinations are, the history of the Dodge Stealth ( phenomenal ), rare advertisements, rare scale model ( unbuilt in box etc ). Of note: The previous owner had major work done ( valve seals etc ) and I have all those maintenance records. Cosmetically, the clear coat has 'loosened' up a bit in a couple spots, the worst being the left frt-fender ( see photo- I just found out from Ebay it had a minor accident to left frt-fender by original owner in 92', thus the reason for clear coat lifting there after all these years ) and I had a very ( rare color matched custom made large aerosol can of paint made recently which I will give you ) for those into sanding, priming and painting! Some quick things about early Stealth R/T's. They have 2-back-up brake systems, can run on virtually any octane commercial fuel ( and run well! ), they have a 'dual' body- really solidly built cars. One day in 2006, as I approached an intersection going 40 mph, some moron took a left turn right in front of me. I slammed the brakes on and this Stealth made one load 'chirp' and stopped in a virtual car and a half length ( witnessed by several fellow employee's where I work- ALL of who said they'd 'never seen a car stop like that...that they were SURE I would T-bone the idiot'.... so DON'T believe those 'know-it all's' who claim Stealths don't have great brakes! The winning bid on this car, will require a 50% deposit immediately via pay-pal, the balance in cash the day the car is picked up. I will give the buyer up to 2-wks to arrange pick up or flat-bedding of vehicle. Or by special arrangement only. Yes, it is perfectly driveable but I prefer you NOT attempt some ridiculously long drive as if the water pump DOES go...you'll have to flat-bed it anyway but it's up to you. The pump is noisy but hasn't gone yet. But also, while brakes are good, again- there's no way to tell when the last of the pad(s) reaches the limit. This car has never been beat or raced- hell I'm in my 50's and NEED my perfect driving record due to my job in transportation. All she needs is a new owner to get her perfect again. Now as to the 'rare-emblems', this car has a front emblem, side emblems and rear emblems that say 'S**********d' and the designer felt these emblems may have been originally intended for the PPG-car of movie lore. While the car is NOT, the emblems make people say, "Whoa".... YOU figure out what the emblems say. Well, thats it. I am hoping for someone who has either always dreamt of owning a Stealth, or someone who really wants to give this car the continued respect it deserves...Good Luck! Note: I took car to gas it up on Wednesday 08/18/10 and there are two lights on on dash. One is the low windshield washer reservoir light ( I checked both front and rear and topped them off but light hasn't gone out-should reset, and the SRS ( airbag light ) which does come on every once in awhile and stays on sometimes a few days before resetting itself.
