Vehicle Detail

I’m sad to say but my 1985 Ford Mustang GT (5.0L V8) is up for sale. For some reason the listing defaults to V6. It’s definitely a V8 and title properly indicates so. I’m relocating to Boston for work, and I will no longer be afforded the opportunity to store the car in a garage. I would pain me to see this car endure a winter here in the Northeast. Let me say, this a fun car to drive. The power, especially acceleration is amazing. The car has been garaged every winter that I’ve owned it, and it’s clear to see that it was also garaged before hand. There is only 122,600 miles on the car. The automatic transmission was rebuilt 5,000 miles ago ($1400 worth of work). I go through less than a quart of oil between oil changes. I’ve been driving this car daily in the late spring and early summer for the last three years. Like most cars 25 years or older, there is some wear that is visible (slightly faded paint, and dashboard crack). Nice part is at this age, it’s a classic and it no longer needs to pass the emissions test. It pasted last time though. Here’s my disclosure of concerns with the car: The dashboard has a crack (noted above) and is faded in areas as seen in the pictures. It has never bothered me, but you could get a dashboard cover or seek a replacement dashboard. The heat and air conditioning systems are not working appropriately. Not blowing completely hot nor blowing completely cold. I don’t know if it just needs to be charged. The speedometer cable needs to be adjusted or replaced. The speedometer doesn’t work past 60 mph. (note: the odometer works properly and is not related to speedometer). I have a replacement part for the speedometer, but I haven’t put it in yet. I’ll include it with sale. The weather stripping on the outside of the door windows could use to be replaced. It doesn’t cause a direct concern, but it’s old and cracking There is no rot under the car and there is no rust other than one bubble on the trunk. Please see picture. It can easily be fixed. Lastly there is no radio or cd player in the system. There is a cd player installed; however, I broke the face of the player when removing it on vacation last summer. The car sounds better than a radio anyhow. Other items I’m including in sale: Insulated car cover (I put this over my car even though it was in the garage in case critters got in the garage). Manufacturers touch up paint. Think it’s a 2 or 4 oz bottle. Matches up well. A hood ford emblem. Recently bought it on e-bay to replace current one Rubber ford emblem floor mats for the front floors. The tires are good and have roughly 50 – 60% of their life remaining on them. The title is clean. On Aug-17-10 at 18:53:36 PDT, seller added the following information:I wanted to add. The reason why there is technically a "major title issue" is due to the fact that the odometer only displays five digits. Therefore 122,600 is displayed on the odometer as 22,600. This is how the odometer was designed for this model.
