BMW AIRHEAD BOBBER R100RT R100 RT BMW Airhead Bobber ******************** 1988 R100RT Monolever Up for auction is this 1988 BMW R100RT thats been stripped down and made into a retro bobber. I got this bike a few months back and previous owner who is a BMW enthusiast of around 30 years decided to make it alot lighter, it still had the bench seat and cowl on it when I got it, but all the RT stuff was removed, I love the look of these monolever Bobbers so I set out to do it up right. Seat is like new and is from a Harley Police Bike, I used the Harley seat T-bar and part of the stock BMW subframe to make a nice bracket for the solo seat. Its welded up nice and is a very solid unit. It had some lower bars on it, but they had solid dampening inside and I couldn't run wires through them for the barend signals. So I put on some higher bars. Has brand new /2 grips, new stop/tail light and side mount tail light/plate bracket. Little shorty mufflers give it a nice sound. Tires are fairly new. Airbox was removed and aluminum cover made. Has Pod filters This bike has the automatic fuel shut off. (no drippy drippy) Bike has about 40,000 miles on it. The strip down was a recent thing so there's less than 1000 miles on the new version. I have the gauges and they are included. The rear shock has a very slow weep and the right pod filter has a tear in the boot (which I have taped up), there's one ping dent in the tank below the right emblem. The bike it a good runner and has a very comfortable ride with the big solo seat. It's also pretty quick now that all the RT baggage has been removed. Someone is selling a shock from an 1988 R100GS Bumble Bee on ebay right now.
