Vehicle Detail
1966 Honda CB450 K0 "Black Bomber" I don't know the history of this bike, but it is in very good condition and runs well. Notice the chrome fenders. I've read that the chrome fenders were an option on certain production models of the K0, but I don't know if they were original to this bike....I assume that they were. After owning and enjoying this bike for the last 2 years, my impression is that this bike has been lovingly owned and maintained for its entire life. The engine runs well and has good power. Engine # is CB450E 1009064. Frame # is CB450 1011753. Because of the difference in these numbers, I had wondered if the engine was original to the bike. I have since been told that this difference was not so unusual and that this engine could very well be the original. It is certainly the correct engine and it is perfectly stock. This Bomber has not been restored...a true survivor, it is an excellent candidate for a total restoration (if you want perfection), or it is ready to ride and enjoy just as it is. Though pretty nice, this Bomber isn't perfect. In the interest of full disclosure I will attempt to describe all of the defects that I'm aware of:The fenders show evidence of minor pitting in the chrome here and there, and there are some small dents on the front fender which are difficult to photograph. You can see some minor rust on the taillight bracket, and some of the chrome nuts and bolts are pitted as well. One of the seat hinges has been repaired, and the seat has been recovered (nice job). The mufflers, though functional, are less than perfect...the right one shows significant scratches. I don't believe that the mileage indicated on the odometer is correct. There is a small dent on the right side cover. As you go over the bike you will see minor imperfections in the paint...particularly on the lower portions of the frame where its exposed to small rocks and chips from the road. Overall, most of what I'm describing is pretty nit-picky stuff, and when you stand back and look at the bike..... it looks pretty darn good....especially for a 44 year old bike. I have throughly enjoyed owning this classic bit of motorcycle history, and riding it is a true blast from my past. I'm selling it because I'm trying to pay off some ugly medical bills. If you have an appreciation for this era of Honda's history here is your chance to own a true classic. Please email any questions. I will be happy to help arrange shipping if necessary. Thanks for looking.
