This is a project car and will required complete restoration. We found this car as a local craigslist listing and could not pass up on it. The car is 1 of 1 known to exist. We checked the registry and it breaks down this way: There were 2,724 AAR ‘Cudas Produced 1,604 were Automatic Cars 1,301 AAR ‘Cudas have been documented with the AAR Registry and are verified to still exist. 126 AAR ‘Cudas are Lemon Twist (Most desirable Color) 9 Cars had the PRX9 Premium Leather Option 1 Car (This Car) had the overhead Gran Sport Console with this option set. All of this can be verified at http://www.transamcuda.com/aarvins.htm Now you can see what we have here. It is an opportunity to own an extremely rare piece of American racing Heritage. It is a beautiful car with the stance of a champion. Provenance: The car’s original owner went to prison and gave the car to his best friend to store until he got out. This happened in 1990. His friend stored the car in a barn until about 4 months ago when the bank foreclosed the farm. The farm and its contents were sold at sheriff’s auction. The guy that we purchased the car from claims he purchased it at that auction. I have no way of verifying this information, but it sounds reasonable. I have a clear Indiana Title for the car in my possession. The car does have a replacement motor in it. It is a 1971 340 Four Barrel. It is not the original motor and does not run. I haven’t even attempted to turn it over. We purchased this car with the best of intentions of restoring it to its original condition. The car deserves that. We are not Mopar guys and it has been placed on the back burner. We have now decided to let someone else enjoy this car and we are looking forward to seeing the car once it gets the restoration it deserves. Condition: The car is equipped with the premium leather package which is extremely rare for the AAR. In addition to the floor shift console, it has the overhead console which makes it a one off. I have had Mopar guys that have owned multiple AAR’s tell me that they have never seen this. It is original because it is in the option code located on the inner fender well. It has the original rallye instrument cluster with the 150 MPH Speedo, 8,000 RPM Tachometer and Clock. The original Music Master AM radio still rests in the dash. All original Glass and trim is in place and in good condition. The original steering wheel is still in the car. The car needs a full restoration, but for the most part everything is here and in its original configuration. The car reads 77,xxx miles, but this cannot obviously be verified. The broadcast sheet has not been located, but the option code plates are in place and original. Terms of Sale: The car is sold as is where is and will have no warranty or guarantee of any sort. It is a barn find car that will need a complete restoration. The buyer will be responsible for picking up the car. You are welcome and encouraged to inspect the vehicle at my facility in Indianapolis at any time prior to the auction ending. Payment in full is due within 5 business days of auction ending. A $1,000.00 Deposit will be required within 24 hours of the auction ending. It may be paid through PayPal or sent overnight to my facility. Only certified funds will be allowed for the purchase of the vehicle. Either a Cashier’s Check or Bank Transfer is acceptable. The vehicle is for sale locally as well and if it sells locally, I reserve the right to end the auction at that time. Contact Information: My personal Email is: jmcginty@rocketmail.com. Please contact me through this Email and I will give you my Cell Number so we can communicate. The car is truly an extremely rare opportunity. As all Mopar guys know, owning one of these cars is an absolute joy and the car demands and receives a ton of attention. These cars can sell for well over $100,000 when they are restored properly. This car is truly one of one known to exist and with this level of rarity could create a price much higher than $100,000. There is only one way to find out! Purchase the car, do the restoration and I will see you at the Mopar Nationals, on TV, or in the Magazines! Good Luck to all. On Aug-21-10 at 08:32:02 PDT, seller added the following information: Many people have been asking about the condition of the frame rails and the engine compartment. I added several pictures to the listing so you can have a good representation of the underside of the car. I would say that the underside looks pretty consistent with the top of the car. There are areas that will need attention.
