Up for auction is my dad's 1948 Chevrolet Dump Truck with an inline 6-cylinder engine and 4-speed manual transmission. With this truck being a working truck for 62 year this dump truck is in very nice condition but since he's moving off the farm he has to let it go and down size. The truck still has a 6-volt battery system. The motor has been rebuilt with very few miles on it. It still so tight that the 6-volt system has problems turning it over and currently has been pull started when being used. During the trucks 62 years the over drive rear end has been changed out so the truck maxs out at 35 to 40 mph. This could be easily fixed by putting in the correct ring and pinion set up or find a over drive rear end again. As you can see in the picture the dump cylinder and pump still work on this truck, the rear window is broken and the rust is mostly surface rust with very little holes. This truck is currently licensed and could be driven any where you wanted but trailer would be recommended due to the max mph. In talking more to my dad he said that the max speed has always been like that. He assumed that the rear end gear was changed out or maybe an over drive unit might have been removed.
