Vehicle Detail
1968 Plymouth Barracuda Fastback factory 318 V8 - A/C car Bought originally in Phx and never left AZ 79,847 Documented AZ miles . HEMI Clone or Big Block swap maybe ? Or restore it back to factory stock ? A unmolested survivor ! Has had at least one factory white paint job over the years but the body is very clean for its age. Interior sun damaged from the Az sun, but would also restore pretty easily in a weekend. AC not working , but all there. Car also has PS too. Brakes feel fine. All glass seems great, but has old window tint still intact from the 80s. Car runs and drives, probably needs a new muffler and tune up to be a driver. Running off a gas can under the hood, but going to try to un clog the fuel pick up in the tank this week. Would be an easy restoration. Drive around as is or restore it to its original glory, or somewhere in between. Car is super solid, doors etc all close well and tight. What you will see in the pics below is: Chrome in amazing shape too thanks to AZ. Pop open gas cap of course. Grill and trim around the car very nice for its age. The only rust I could find was the driver side lower rear Outter only 1/4 panel. Weird, not sure how it happened but would be a very easy fix. Ive been all over and Under the car, and have pics to below to prove our claims. Check out ALL the pics below and you can see for yourself. Drivers side window okay, but regulator bad non functional. Wouldnt take a whole lot to restore as a fun driver or show car. Az sun has been hard on the paint and interior but not on the sheetmetal. Has had some body work done I believe to various areas over the years. Obviously this is not a restored car. A VERY RARE AND HARD TO FIND BARRACUDA We really try to have realistic reserves on all of our auctions and want to sell cars, not sit on them for another year. LOTS OF PICS, it may take a full minute for them all to load if you have a slow connection, so be patient. This is a great car to restore and would do so nicely. It needs interior, paint and probably some suspension work but it is an example of a era long gone. Remember: they arent making anymore :) My take is this has been in Az its whole life. Az gets maybe 12" a yr of rain. The more you go over this car, the cooler it gets ! Check out All the pics and then look for more info AFTER the pics etc. There are over 100, make sure you use the schroll bar on the side to see them all. If you treat yourself to buying one of our cars even one this rough, youll never buy a rust bucket again from anyone !! Doing restoration on this type of project is less labor intensive which means overall cost is less too ! With less horrid surprises later on. So there you have it, the pics show very well what to expect. Dont let auctions with little to no pics try to fool you.
