Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE 1966 Shelby Cobra Roadster 427 Replica, very strong running 302 V-8, 5-speed transmission, body design and lines very true to the original, lightweight Halibrand-style Wheels, Toya 600 + 4 P295/50R15 rear tires and 600F3 215/60R15 front tires, Corvette Independent Rear Suspension, new battery, new starter motor. It is likely that this roadster was produced in the early 1990’s and was completed and titled in 1995. The drive train and everything under the hood appear to be untouched from the original completion with a few recent upgrades. It is a 302 with Edelbrock aluminum intake and four-barrel carburetor. Ownership history indicates that the 302 was balanced and blueprinted prior to installation and the odometer was set at zero. Today, the odometer reads about 4,500 and has only been driven about 100 miles in seven years prior to my ownership. Power brakes, hydraulic clutch and rack-and-pinion steering make driving a pleasure. The clutch slave cylinder was recently replaced. The motor runs smoothly and sounds incredible with side exhaust pipes. The Borg Warner transmission shifts well and does not appear to have any issues. I have only shifted into fifth gear a couple of times, because you can hit 60 mph in second gear!!! The gauges appear to function properly except for the gas gauge that always reads 1/4 full. The paint shows as though it is the original application and presents reasonably well. There are some chips but no signs of cracks, damage, or repair. The trunk and floor pans are solid and presentable. The wheels are bolt-on Halibrand-style. The suspension is firm and the stance of the car is low and mean-much like the original. The interior and upholstery appear to be the original fitting as it shows a realistic amount of wear. Proper seatbelts have been added. Overall, it is an honest quality automobile that has been used sparingly over the last 12 years. It offers many original style features that are not often found on other Cobra replicas. It might cost $30-35,000 to purchase all the bits and pieces to build a “kit car” in addition to the time and money to put it all together. This is a finished turn-key car that is ready to enjoy! This car always gets attention! Why wait? Great car for the summer! .
