Vehicle Detail

BMW R60/2 R50/2 R69S r69 r50 r60 1966 B M W R50/2 ******************** Up for sale is my 66 R50, I don't really want to sell it, but times are tuff and it has to go. I bought this bike in June of 2009 from a fella in Richmond Virginia. It's been a real joy to ride and usually starts on the first kick. I've just mainly rode it around town, but have taken it to a few nearby towns once or twice. Rode it out to a friends house in Barlow, Ky (30 miles) last fall and it ran great out on the highway. I thought it was running just fine, but my Barlow friend (James Mariner) who is a retired BMW Mechanic said lets make it purr even better, so with just his ears and a screw driver he made it sound perfect. When I brought it home last year it had and old Harley seat on it and the rear fender was chopped so the big HD seat would fit. Recently I put a rear fender from R60/2 on it and installed a brand new Corbin seat. Below is a before photo of the bike. Bars are 22mm and are nice and wide, around 27". Has a nice vintage set of Napolean bar end mirrors. Brand new set of Gas Tank emblems. Wheels are Akront shouldered Rims w/ Stainless Steel Spokes. Looks like it has straight header pipes, but the last 10" or so are mufflers that have been welded on. So it's not as loud as you might think. I thought about tearing the bike down powder coating everything and making it perfect, but I wanted to ride it and since it's not totally restored I don't have to worry about every little scratch. Original paint on tank is still very shiny, inside red liner is in great shape, it has a small dent on top and one on the left side about 2 inches from the emblem. Rear fender is nice and solid it just needs some fresh paint. Ignition has 2 keys and theres one key for the side tool box. Bike has a clear title and it's in my name. I'm including a few parts which I have shown below. I recently changed all the fluids and there was no gunk in the pan. The Bike is not a garage queen.. it is a rider that will turn heads where ever you go. Who ever gets this bike will enjoy it because I sure have. I also have a couple of bench seats I'll throw in if buyer wants them. ******************* HAPPY BIDDING AND GOOD LUCK! ~ Bike is Located in Paducah Kentucky. If you need the bike shipped you will have to do all the leg work and send a truck to the house. SELLERS LIST Here's what it looked like last fall before changing out the old Harley seat and chopped fender. ********************************************************************* Extra Parts Include: Better front fender than what is currently on the bike. On Aug-12-10 at 13:30:53 PDT, seller added the following information: Just a few things I forgot to mention: I have the stock sidestand that is also included, the side stand that is on the bike now is a heavy duty one that was on a /6 bike that I fabricated to fit on this R50. Cross-over pipe is kinda rusty and should be changed at some point. Tires are Metzelers, rear has decent tread left, front has some tread, but is worn. The 390 miles that shows on the trip meter is all I've put on it since I bought it.
