Here i am selling my 1983 Mercedes 300CD 2 door coupe . Mercedes built the 123 series coupe between 1978 and 1985 , but they only built 8007 of them with the turbo diesel engine . This 3-liter 5-cylinder engine is widely known as one of the best engines Mercedes Benz ever built . With the right maintenance they are known to go for over 500k miles without any major engine work.The paint is still in great condition and the body is clean . The interior is also in good condition as the pictures will show . There are no cracks in the dashboard but the driver side seat has a tear in it . The carpets are clean and even the wood is still very nice . This car really sticks out and does not look like your average 27 year old automobile . You can tell , that this car was built in a time , when they were made to last a lifetime and not just until the next model comes along . But the best thing about this car is the way it drives . Mercedes diesel engines were always very reliable and economical . Now with the turbo charged engines , they also had plenty of power . This car is not slow at all . It has good pick up and plenty of speed on the freeway . The transmission shifts smooth and it is a pleasure to drive in town and on the freeway. This car has always been taken care of very well . In 1983 it already came with a lot of options . It has air-conditioning , cruise control , power windows front and back , power sunroof and power door locks .However the passenger side rear window does Not roll down. Whoever buys this car will enjoy driving a classic automobile with the reliability and all the amenities of a modern car . Prices on clean classic Mercedes coupes also go up every year , which should make this car also a very practical investment . The 3 liter Mercedes diesel engine is also the perfect candidate for bio diesel conversion . This way you would be able to drive on vegetable oil or even used waste oil from restaurant.
