This was my daily driver for 3 years. Front linkage problems sidelined the car for good in February of this year (2010). Here are the POSITIVES: It has an excellent running engine, transmission, and drivetrain; the panels are in good shape (which can get very expensive); sunroof and window motors work, the Pioneer stereo is a year-old; it’s a Porsche; parts will fit and 1983-85(1) 944 PROBLEMS: front boots are corroded (there might be other linkage problems as well; tires bent inward slightly); rims are slightly bent; radiator has a crack; front bumper has been pushed in on passenger’s side; driver side outside lock is stripped; rear wiper motor doesn’t work; leak behind passenger seat; needs new paint; seats and dash cracked; dipstick cracked at the connection to the block; electrical problems (occurred all at once) with: horn, headlights, fan, windshield wipers, headlight motor (I’m positive it still works, I just think that there’s a just somewhere) I have nothing to hide.
