This is a real Barn find. 1966 AMC Ambassador 990 Convertable. This Convertable is from an estate and the ares have decided to sale there dads cars. The dad was the second owner and bought the car in 1969 when it was two years old. Only 1,814 990 Ambassador convertables were produced in 1966 making this car fairly rare. The car has been sitting in the barn for a number of years, and was Last licenced in 1984. The car dose run and drive but only with a remote gas can. The 327 - V8 engine sounds good, started easly with the rebuilt cabureter and a new set of plugs and plug wirers. The transmition shifts as it should and the brakes work with a little pumping (need to bleed). The gas tank needs to be pulled and cleaned, (will not run on its own tank.) We ran the car off a remote gas can. The car has a power top with glass back window but the top needs replaced. All glass is good with one small rock chip on the windshield. This 990 is a very dry car with no rust in the floor pans, trunk or eny place elce. The car was originaly a tan color but has an older repaint in the copper color. (Not a good paint job.) (Please look at pictures) We took the carpeting out, it needed replaced, you can see the floor pans this way. The interior is intact but the drivers seet need some help. The car has a new battery and dose run but will need to be trailered or transported. We can help load or can deliver a reasonable distance for time and gas. The car is complete but needs work!
