I picked up this bike a few years ago with the intention of building a cafe racer out of it. Too many toys and not enough time so this little one is the odd bike out. This bike would make a great restoration bike or a great donor bike to an existing resto project. Several usable parts worth way more than the reserve on this bike. The bike had considerable exposure when I picked it up. It was last ridden in 1998 and I have had it in my possession since 2007. The frame and triple clamps are sound save for some paint and the swing arm bearings are still good. I began to tear down the engine getting as far as the cases. I did not split them yet. The pistons were shot but the cylinders are in good shape. They are media blasted and ready to be over bored with a new set of pistons. The carbs have been torn down, one has been rebuild with a rebuild kit, the other serviced and still in need of a fresh gasket before running. Some of the engine components have been media blasted and already restored. the exhaust has some surface rust but could be buffed out and used again. The electrical harness has a few week spots that need attention but not out of the ordinary for a 29 year old bike. The frame and engine numbers match. Extras include: gasket kit, service manual, points, and some extra plastic parts. No key or title, this was a "barn find" Also included, a photo cd with pictures of the tear down to help the new owner with rebuilding if he/she is unfamiliar with this model.
